SOURCE: Blub goes out during use.

Most fans have a sense line to detect the fan is working properly, Possible the sense circuit has failed. The unit should not start if it thinks the fans are not running. Possible thermal problem with the sense circuit, since your unit starts up then stops.

SOURCE: Toshiba projector switching itself off

Hi 123d

Have you tried resetting the lamp timer ?

If you have and it didn't solve the problem , take out the lamp and check for any discolouration or markings on the lamp.

If you do find anything out of order then the lamp would need replacement.

SOURCE: toshiba TDP SC25 projector

The manual says it might be because the power went out when it was on. Just a note here, as projectors age they become more sensitive to power outages. When not in use turn off completely if you can. They have an on/off button.

Otherwise not sure but think you may need to replace the fan. Try cleaning it first but gently.

SOURCE: I've owned a Toshiba TDP-S8 projector for about 20

if the fans won't go on, you have a power supply problem. chances are it's a bad capacitor. this model is known for making their power supplies with underrated capacitors. if you are good with a soldering iron, you can replace the main cap (c1, i believe) with one that has a slightly higher voltage rating with the same microferads. otherwise, replace the power supply.

Toshiba TDP-P9 Lamp time reset

I had sleepless nights with my customers TDP-P9 projector where I changed the lamp.
The lamp timer resetting gave me headache but now I finally solved the right combo:
1: Unplug the power cord
2: Hold down 'On/standby' 'Input' and 'up arrow'
3: While keeping the buttons pressed, insert the power cord and wait for the projectors led's to flash briefly and then power button to keep illuminated and then starting to blink.
4: Release the buttons and power on, it should now have 0 hours in the timer.

Toshiba TDP T 91A

Hi there

I would suggest you investigate it yourself first before dishing out that sort of amounts.

Check if the fans are running.

Most of the times the overheating of a Projector is as a result of a faulty fan.

Toshiba tdp-mt800

Hi there

Have you tried using another input like the Component instead of the DVI. See if it makes any difference.

If not it could be the DMD or your Mainboard.

Most of the time it is the Mainboard - Home Theatre Projectors come out with awesome DMD's , so I doubt it to be the problem.

Hope this is usefull !
