Question about Sceptre 17" LCD Monitor
I fixed mine. Had to replace one bulging capacitor in the power supply. Yours may need more or less but it was pretty easy if you do any electronics. The specifics can be found under some of the other problem posts, especially for one of the 19" sceptres.

If you take the back off the monitor....you should be able to see the part numbers on the power supply and backlight inverter....I would think it would be one of the two....also some of these monitors have combination power supplies with the backlight inverter built into it...either way you should be able to buy the part on ebay or from jimmy johns

Sceptre said it is the power inverter and they'd fix it for $100. I'm still trying to find a replacement inverter so I can fix it myself (if that's possible). Email Sceptre if you want to spend $100 they said the $100 is parts and labor....

The unit is no longer under warranty.
As long as it is not the display panel, it costs $100.00 USD to service
the monitor, parts / labor included. If you are interested in the
repair, please go to our website http://www.sceptre.com. Click on
SUPPORT. Download the RMA form and fill it out completely including the
out of warranty box. When you have finished filling out the form,
please fax it back to us for processing. We will give you a RMA number
within 24-48 hours. Please put that number on the box that you are
going to ship the monitor in. When you have finished packing up the
monitor, you'll need to ship the monitor to us with the address that is
at the bottom of the RMA form, thanks.

i fixed this problem by unplugging the monitor, unplugging the video cables. Then hold down the power button while plugging it back in. Release power button and then press power button for on. It worked then. I got the icon for no signal, i plugged back in my monitors. Sceptre X9W
