Panasonic cordless iron

posted by jeremy21269 on May 04, 2008

Have a Panasonic Cordless Iron NI-L45NR and the power comes in from the base through a prong at the base of the iron. Then goes into a small cylinder unit then into a red wire and on into the handle. This small circle piece is where the power is lost. If i jump past it with a wire it turns in(charges/heats) right up. What is this cylindar piece. Like a capacitor/resister. Some sort of Ni/cad piece since its cordless? Any advise would be appreciated. jeremy21269@yahoo.com
