Go to www.canonusa.com and go to downloads and type in your model and you will see software options for downloading. if that doesn't work call a canon refurbishing center not a third party one but a canon center and explain to them that you need a disk for your camera.

Hey, I owned this camera since... Christmas and Ive had the same problem, I decided to look into it and I found something that helped Its called iSofter VOB Converter, and I just have the demo, and it seems to be working fine, Mind you I just got the program like 2 minutes ago... but I used Sony Vegas 8 to rip em at first, but you still couldnt edit them, but iSofter works on Windows Movie Maker, and probably other programs too... Hope this helped

Initialize the discs then record...but then it still wont play on the computer/dvd player Canon camcorder dc210

I have a Samsung recorder, and it requires you to "finalize" the disc before it will play on another unit. Check your manual for specifics, or look in your menu for the "finalize disk" option. Hope this helps...

Can i buy a replacement manual for my canon DC210 please?

Hi,

You can download a free copy of the required manual from:

Canon DC210 Support site

You'll find the manual listed under "Guides and Manuals" section. You'll require Adobe PDF Reader installed on your PC to view this manual. If it is not already installed on your PC, download it free from:
http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Also, you can print the manual for future reference.

You can contact Canon support on 1-800-828-4040 for more information.

Hope this solves your problem. For more help and clarifications, please reply to this post. Thanks

How does one transfer videos and stills onto cd/dvd and/or a pc?

I find the best way is with your own computer. Using a system like iMovie you can hook up your camera, import the footage and from there burn it onto a CD/DVD. Hope that helps.

How to copy from CANON DC210 DVD Camcorder to PC

Before you can transfer pictures or video from your Canon DC210 to your PC you need to finalise the disc in the camcorder.

You also need to make sure that the DVD drive on your PC is capable of reading a DVD-R, DVD-R DL or DVD-RW format as these are the only disk formats that the DC210 will handle. Not all PC DVD drives can read these formats.

To finalise the disk you must have the power adapter connected to the camera, plugged into a wall socket and turned on. Then, switch on the camera, put it into playback mode, Press 'Func.', select main menu, select 'disk operations', select 'finalise'. Don't move or shake the camera or switch it off whilst the finalising step is underway - this could cause problems.

Once finalising is complete, put the disk into the PC.

Good Luck.
