Hi Michella, How long have you had your Designer 1? Has this problem just started happening? Have you updated to the newest update lately which the last and lasted one for the last Designer 1 meaning before the SE, Ruby & the Diamond which came out here in the last year or two, the update version is 2.24. I've looked at my manual and there isn't really anything but a couple of lines on page 30 under the set tab in the screen menu that tells you anything about the language and next to the language tells you to touch next until you get the language you want then press ok. I turn my machine off and it still shows up in English which is what i.ve always had it set for. Resetting the computer I guess is just turning your sewing machine off & on(which is suppose to recalibrate it's self). If you're setting your language which you didn't say what it was and pressing ok, then when you turn your machine off then on again and it changes then it's probably something you need to go and take it in to your local tech cause it could be a problem with a pc board or something. I myself don't like to do that if I can fix it myself but sometimes it's kind of unavoidable. Let me know if any of this helped. excuse me if I couldn't help further. Maybe we can Google the problem further. Kathy:-)

Hello Michella Linton

On the touch screen touch "English" until your language choice is indicated. The language setting remains until it is changed. Refer to manual page 21 which can be downloaded free from this link: http://manuals.husqvarnaviking.com/

I have an Elna 7000. I did a test buttonhole, got it exactly the size I wanted, and hit "enter" to memorize the buttonhole. Now, how do I pull up the memorized buttonhole so I can sew it on my...

You would have programeed your preferred length by first choosing a buttonhole code, either 1 for square type, 5 for a keyhole or 6 for stretch.

To obtain your buttonhole again, set up fabric under foot, just press the same buttonhole button again, then press the foot control down and the machine should sew out the whole thing in one go, then repeat the process for all the buttonholes on your garment.

I hope this assists you with your 7000, four thumbs up if so.

Look in your instruction book, towards the back of the book where it covers oiling the sewing hook. Oil the hook and then turn the handwheel backwards until it frees up. You may need to exert a moderate amount of force to get it to break free.

iam reliable informed that you will need to change the needle by the one who controls this machine in our house for different thickness materials you need different size needles ,or you will get exactly the problems you describe ,iam told to look in the book and see whats suggested for this sort of material ,as some of the smaller machines will not go through tougher type materials and some jean material you will have to do it by hand with a special long needle ,the type of needle i use on my boat for the awnings and sail .

This error indictaes that the upper thread is broken. If it is not the sensor is telling the computer the thread is broken. Try tightening the upper thread tension some and rethread the upper thread.
