No, there's no shutoff because the oven did light once or twice.

The oven won't light. The ignitor is working and I've replaced the dual outlet oven safety valve. The burners work properly and there is no smell of gas when attempting to light the oven. It acts like the oven gas valve isn't opening, that's why I replaced it but it didn't fix the problem. Help.

I have an all electronic, Maytag gas range model #CHG9800BAB. The oven won't light. Igniter is working, there's no smell of gas, burners work properly, replaced dual gas/safety valve and orfices with no help. I assume something isn't signaling the gas valve to oven to open. I have a wiring schematic but am not sure of the operating sequence of events. Any familiar with this model or type? help, thanks.

If your still not getting any gas through, then something is stopping it.
Sounds like the gas valve is staying closed.Make sure you have 24 volts to the gas vavle when trying to lite.

It is confirmed by you that therre is no gas flow .
So this is the critical missing link to the fault.
We must trace the flow of the gas from the front regulator valve . So using a good air jet, if you can get compressed air to blow into the pipes , it will be helpful. so open the gas inlet and check flow till the valve. Now check the flow from the valve to the ovenflow pipe.
if there is no air coming through use a thin wire to puch in for removing dirt / rust.Blown it out.
Check if the nozzle jet is blocked in the valve assembly through which the gas comes in. USe a thin needle to clean the jet.
Once you have established a clean flow of air , put back all the removed parts and connect the gas.
It must work for sure..

Check for the electronic flow valve for this block or non working of the valve, either the coil has opened or the valve is struck.

It doesn't light up because the gas doesn't arrive at the oven's burners. On this model, like in many others, you need to press on the knob for some time after you light it, otherwise the safety valve will keep the gas flow shut. If you have replaced the entire valve and still get the same result then check the air-fuel mixture at the burners inside the oven, maybe it's off.

In that case it's a model i never worked on, sorry. But if it's fully electronic then the valves are commanded by electromagnets - you should check the one for the oven for continuity and if it receives the electric command to open. If the electromagnets are intact and it receives the command then the valve is faulty. If the valve doesn't receive it then the control panel is faulty (or the wiring from it).

Certain gas valves have a shutoff lever on them to cut the gas off to the oven only, while still allowing gas to the stove top burners. This small lever should be sticking straight up or out. Check to see if yours has one and see if that's the problem. If not, let me know and we'll dig deeper. It may be a problem with your oven safety valve. It is usually located in the bottom rear of the oven. It is silver and positioned below the burner tube, with the oven orifice threaded on top of it, in the mouth of the burner tube. Using the handle of a large screwdriver or wrench, try tapping on it while the ignitor is on & see if it lights the burner. Sometimes they stick internally or just go bad and need to be replaced. You will need to look and see if the igniter is glowing a bright red. If it is weak, the oven will not light. Here is the igniter if you need to order it.

Also check and make sure your getting 3.2-3.6 volts AC to the valve.

I have a maytag gemini gas stove three igniters work but won't light the burners. One igniter won't spark

Replace the "igniter switch assembly". The igniter's are getting a weak spark and since you have one that will not spark at all, this is the usual problem. Here is the assembly to order.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

More than likely, you have a bad igniter. As the igniters age from repeated use, they can become weak and longer function properly. Just because they glow, does not mean they are good. If you are experiencing ignition problems, the following link explains a little theory about how these igniters work and how to replace one:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575727-replacing_an_oven_igniter_on_a_gas_range

The burner manifolds in the oven each use a glow bar or electrode type igniter with a gas safety valve to ignite. Both oven manifolds are controlled by the Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board, which is your clock/timer on the control panel. If the surface burners work, but the oven does not, the problem is usually not a gas related issue. If a single igniter is still working (i.e., the broiler still works), its more than likely NOT a control board issue, either.

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between these sites, so shop and compare. The first three sites listed also offer helpful exploded view diagrams to help you locate and properly identify the parts you need. If the model number is correct, the part number for a replacement igniter is WB2X9154.

NOTE: It is common for the BAKE igniter to require replacement more often than the broiler, due to the frequency of use.

If you have any questions please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

I have a magic chef oven model # 61S04PAW. the

Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good “blue” arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.

Maytag gas stove model CRG9830CAE the oven will not work

Hi. This sounds like a weak igniter, the symptoms usually are: burner won't light, or takes longer than normal to ignite the burner, may or may not smell gas in the oven, does not maintain set temperature or burner does not come on fully. On gas ovens, a glo igniter is like a light bulb, the more you cook, the faster it wears out. Bottom line, the igniter needs to be replaced. Good luck.
