Question about Sceptre X20G-Naga II 20.1" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

17 inch flat screen monitor has trouble turning on

When I turn on the system the little light on the bottom right of the monitor constantly alternates from red to blue. It should just be red if no signal is being transmitted from the PC. When the computer boots up the light just slowly blinks blue but no image appears. If you fiddle with it long enough (rebooting the computer, plugging and unplugging the cable from the PC, etc.) you can usually get the monitor to display an image. I haven't figured out exactly what combinaton works or if getting it to work is just a matter of luck. The monitor acts up the same way on two different computers.

I changed the video output to 60 Hz, but it didn't make any difference.

After reading various reports on this model I've come to the
realization that what I have is an expensive paperweight with a red and
    blue blinking light on it.

I have the same monitor and same problem. I find that if I Press F8 on startup and select which Operating System I want to boot to the monitor will come on. but from a standard power on with power button I get blinking light no screen.

Make sure that the PC video output is set at 60 Hz. The LCD often will accept up to 75Hz but will not work correctly.

Spend $50 to $100 at any TV/video repair-shop, for trouble-shooting and repair.

Or, spend $40 to $50 to buy a used 17-inch LCD screen, or $100 to buy a new 19-inch LCD screen.

It is showing a permanent white and a blue line vertically on screen

Around here, "previously-owned" 17-inch LCD monitors are available for $50. If you take your monitor to a TV/video technician, it will cost *MORE* than $50 for "labour" by the technician to trouble-shoot.

Buy a replacement monitor, and responsibly recycle the old monitor.

When turned off for the night, it takes forever for monitor to turn on, the lights on the power button constantly change colors before the screen will work. Is this computer or monitor related?

Hi,
Maybe your monitor's having trouble getting power. Try plugging it out, and then in again. If that's not working, call you're monitor's manufacturer (if you don't know the number, try searching on the internet). Or maybe that's not the case. Maybe your PC takes time sending the signal to monitor. Call the computer's manufacturer (if you don't know the number, try searching on the internet). Hope that helps,
Daniel

Screen will light up for about 02 seconds and disappear.

The most likely cause is the power supply. This can be replaced by an experienced repairman. In Australia a replacement power supply costs around A$60plus labour.

I CANT GET MY MONITOR TO TURN ON

It could be the Monitor, the VGA adapter, or the PC itself. If you power on the monitor without anything connected to it, do you ever see anything on the display?

If not, it is probably the Monitor. If yes, it is likely the vga adapter and/or PC.
