Question about JVC CH-X1500 12-Disc CD Changer

1 Answer

I bought this jvc ch-x1500 changer on ebay, I know but it's the only one I could find. Before I got it I did my home work and called jvc to ask which changer would go with my deck which is a jvc kd-hdr1. They told me the ch-x1500 is the only changer that can be controled by my head deck useing the J-Link cable. Any way the changer does not change disk it just sits there and suttles, disk number shows on the deck. Magazine will not exit unless you use manuial reset. I need to fix this cause there are no new ones to be found.

Disk number shows on the deck, exit shows I just didn't want to write a book. I would think a Guru would know that the changer is not going to have power unless it's hooked up to the head deck so since it's only 6 bucks you can have but Guru I'd drop that down to about 50%!!!

Well, I assume you've never had a changer hooked up to the deck, in which case we're really not certain if the problem lies in the deck or the changer, but we'll assume changer. That's going to be hard enough to figure out, since I suspect it's a circuit board that's gone bad, since it's stuck in shuttle mode. Here is a website that has a parts list and schematic for this unit:

Good luck, and hope this helps.

I have a jvc-x11 cd changer is it compatible with my sony MEX-BT39UW

No, it won't work. JVC changers work with JVC head units, Sony head units work with Sony changers. Even if the plugs are the same, it won't work.

Hey guys, I've just installed a CD changer in my car - having some difficulties getting it to work. After some Googling I came across this forum so I figured I'd see if any of you guys know where I'm...

there should be a small connector on the changer itself for the power ground and remote wire for power to the changer unit. the cord coming from the unit to the changer doesn't supply this power and this is why it wont eject and also your head unit wont recognize it until it gets powered up and able to communicate with the head unit and then it will show up as a selectable source when switching between sources of music. check the back of the changer for a small connector containing 3 or 4 pins and you should have a connector with the corresponding wires coming from it to plug into this spot after connecting the wires properly. if you bought it on ebay it is possible you didn't get this piece which is critical when connecting this changer.

I wanted to ask how do I get the JVC CH-X1500RF 12-Disc CD Changer to operate? Where does the unit get power, and how can I connect speakers?...Henry

These multidisk cd changers usually get their power from the operating system that you have in your car. These systems connect directly to your main radio and operations of it are all from the drivers seat. therefore you do not need to connect any speakers or power cables up to it. It should come with a few cables that help you to connect to your radio.

I have a jvc 12 disc changer for my car ch-x11 and I would like to know what radio station i need to set it on for it to work?

The CH-X11 needs to be paired with a JVC CD controller. See the downloadable manual at
http://books.jvc.com/booklist.asp?Model=ch-x11
This unit does not broadcast at the lower FM band.
