This seems to be a common problem with watches and if your local watch shop cannot fix it then contact the Timex web site (times.com) and discuss your problem with their service center. If the warranty has not expired, then they may fix it free!

How do I remove the back of this watch?

I have seen other burberry watches and the back should pop out .
1- Locate a very small tab or recessed area on the edge of the back cover 2- Pull out the stem, which releases the back on some watches.3- Get a small flathead screwdriver it needs to be a thin inflexible tip 3- Very carefully slide the blade under the tiny metal protrusion on the back cover (or across the length of the recessed area, depending on which type of cover your watch has). 4- When you replace the cover, make sure you line up the stem slot on the cover with the stem of the watch. I need to replave the battery but do not know how to open the back of this watch, it has several grooves on back

Hello there, the back of this watch is screwed on. The groves on the back are usually meant for having a grip on the back cover to enable you unscrew the cover out. Get a pair of tweezers to be able to get a grip on the back cover and try unscrewing anticlockwise. This should loosen the back cover screw out and enable you put in replacement batteries.
Hope this support has been helpful?

Thank you for contacting FixYa.
  • Place the watch face-down on a clean towel to protect the crystal.

  • 2

Gently unscrew the backplate from the watch with a small jeweler's screwdriver and set it aside.

  • 3

Locate the battery compartment and remove the screw holding the cover in place, using the screwdriver. The battery is a small, round silvery button.

How do I take the back off of my Relic watch to replace the battery

Locate a very small tab (or recessed area) on the edge of the back cover. This is the access point for removal. You can find this sometimes by running your fingernail around the back rim, as this tab or indentation can be hard to see.
  • 2Pull out the stem, which releases the back on some watches.
  • 3Get a small flathead screwdriver it needs to be a thin inflexible tip. Use a kitchen knife as a last resort. Wrap the hand you are holding the watch with in a towel or protect your hand in some manner so you don't injure yourself if the screwdriver/knife slips.
  • 4Very carefully slide the blade under the tiny metal protrusion on the back cover (or across the length of the recessed area, depending on which type of cover your watch has). Do not attempt to insert the point of the knife. Use the length of the blade.
  • 5Get under the tab or recessed area and gently but firmly turn the blade upward, popping the cover off.
  • 6When you replace the cover, make sure you line up the stem slot on the cover with the stem of the watch.

Trouble replacing rear analog watch cover

mcdevito75 here, Replaceing that back cover can be a real pain. I think I have a tip for you. Place the cover only in the Frig. for about 15--30 minutes, the cold should shrink the cover just a bit so it may be easier to snap back onto the back of your watch.---------- OR, Make sure any cutout on the back of the watch is lined up with the stem, make sure any lip used to pry the back cover off the watch is also lined up with the case of the watch if need be. Place the back cover on the watch back, place the watch on a sturdy table, counter top etc. Crystal up, now with even, even pressure useing your palm, press down on the crystal, this should get the back cover to snap back on. Remeber even, even down ward pressure useing the flat palm of your hand on the crystal, press down slowly and the back cover should snap on. If not, visit a small watch repair shop in your area as they have a special pliers just for this job.

mcdevito75 here, Those 4 screws hold the back onto your Timex. Do not try to pry off the back cover, rather you"ll need jewlers screwdrivers to un--screw that back cover to replace the battery.

How do you replace the back cover on a Timex expedition analog wrist watch

mcdevito75 here, Look for any indentations on the back cover and case that should be linned up, as an example, a cutout on the cover for the stem, after the cover is linned up place the watch on a sturdy surface crystal up (glass) and with the palm of your hand apply even down pressure to close the back. If you can"t look for a small watch repair shop, they will close the back cover for you.

How do I put the back on the watch after replacing the battery?

Most are a press fit. If there is a u cut out of the cover for the stem, make sure it"s lined up with the stem. If there is any kind of groove on the back of the case to pry the cover off, look for it"s mate on the cover and line them up and press the cover on. If your watch has none of the mentioned, you can try to line up the cover with the case as best you can, then place the watch with back cover lined up with the case on a sturdy surface with the watch crystal up, press down on the watch with the palm of your hand with even pressure, the cover should snap shut.

    Battery replacement

    Hello,

do you mean you want to replace the battery for your watch?

This isn't a difficult task to carry out. Simply get a small flat screw driver, use the screw driver to open the back cover of the watch, then you will see the battery of your watch. Remove the battery and replace with a new batter, cover back the watch and that's all.

Note that you will apply force with the screw driver when you are trying to open the back cover of the watch.

    Good luck.
