One way to reset devices is to take the batteries out overnight. It's possible that the batteries are low, and check that. Also make sure the battery contacts on the batteries and inside the machine are clean. Other than that, it's going to be something that will require the machine to be troublshot, which means disassembled, most likely. Others have had problems, as this site review attests:

I would bug them for my money back, and get another brand. Too many people have complained about this unit, and that's never a good sign.
Here is their web support site:

Good luck, and hope this helps.
Try first from the upper right button to see if it is not changed by mistake in KG ...this should explain the half of the reading cause one kg its about 2 pounds...

That was the first thing I tried (the kg/lb button)......no luck....still having the same problem.
I did try that and, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have done the trick. Anything else I can try?
Verified that it was in pound mode, unplugged it for 30 mins. and then tried it, etc....it still is not giving anywhere near an accurate reading...HELP!
