I have an old machine with no manual, it is a globe cub 3. I really just want to know basic default setting since i have had a good play with it and know its is not sewing right, the tension i think is out. Pulling the material through to tight and puckering. The top dial which i think is tension is on 3.5 stitch length on the right side is on 2.5. i need help??

You could try loosen the tension on the upper thread to 2.5-3.0 or Lengthening your stitch to 3 or 3.5 should also help.

A setting change while you are sewing should not happen. Sounds like you will have to take your machine in for service.

Does the globe lock m-34 need to use both needles, 4 threads? or you can use just 3

I don't know this machine specifically, but on most you can use one or two needles. Be sure that it is the left needle that you remove. Your user manual should have information about readjusting the tension when you change the machine setup or change fabrics.

Hi there
Did you manage to get a manual for your Globe M 34 overlocker. I have one, I don't mind copying it and emailing it to you.

Cheers Alida

How do I thread my Singer 7422?

I suggest you do a search on youtube on how to thread a sewing machine and choose a video showing a similar machine as there are really only about 3 basic types of machine as regards the threading.
Some of these instruction videos are very good and you will find it much easier than explanations. However-the important thing is that the thread must go between the tension discs by your tension regulator and do make sure you have a good need le in the machine, inserted correctly.

Don't know how to use

first if you have a manual then fine you can read it but if you don't try threading it and try it out. see what it does at the setting it is at. then change one thing at a time and note the positon everything is at now. probably easier than you think and remember you can't break metal?? can you?? don't be afaid to try it. not being mean or anything but until you see what it does you really can't figure anything out. YOu maight try cleaning out the old lint with canned air and change the needle if you find it burred on end or even bent slightly. good luck

Globe Cub 7 sewing machine

Hi Quinny1420...If you are certain that it is a tension issue, first ensure that your upper threading is correctly inserted/passing through the upper tension discs, and the general upper tension starting point is between 3.5 and 5.5. Increase the upper tension to pull up loose stitching on the bottom. Last resort is to alter your bobbin tension. Clockwise to increase, and counter-clockwise to decrease. Turns should only be made in 1/5 increments between test sews.....Please update your post of your progress...good luck my friend
