I have the same problem. This fridge never ever did get cold, coolish but never cold enough for dairy products, plus it made a loud humming noise and today it finally quit working altogether and all my food is destroyed. The light on the back corner dial thing keeps blinking. I've only had the fridge a few months. It was a defect right out of the box I guess. Piece of **** I'll never buy another Honeywell.

It seem this problem is common to all 88031. One of my customer have 8 of this model in her motel rooms and all problems are the same as your's. My experience in refrigeration and electronic board tell to me this problem is from the fact of humidity comming from everyware(diff. of tempereture, electronic board near the floor, heating from the refrigerator, etc. I find a lot of trace of humidity on the board.
Anyway, like we said in Abitibi, your dog is dead and the only solution is to litter it in a safe place and by a new but this time with a compressor to make cooling, not a fuc.......electronic board.

There is an electrolytic cap on the main board that gets swollen, replace it, it's located on the main board of the PSU close to the smaller one.. They swell and short out. It's a bad supplier, then the fridge will work as it should. I did this repair on mine 3 weeks ago and it works like a charm.. Also replace the small fan on the PSU unit and the noise will go away.

How can I repair my Honeywell Bar Fridge Model 88031. There appears little or no power going to the rear fans & the interior light flickers.... but fridge does NOT get cold. Do u have a solution?

This refrigerator has a thermoelectric cooler, no compressor. Anything that goes wrong is probably electronic. A circuit diagram would really be helpful.

Honeywell 88031 fridge not working

Just in conversation, what you are referring to is the Peltier heating/cooling components. They are wired in parallel and require a power supply to activate them. These elements have 2 junctions, a hot side and a cold side. Depending on what temperature you you require, the polarities are reversed.Very possible, some of the junctions are faulty assuming you have checked the power supply. Best to replace all the peltier modules.

Honeywell minifridge not cooling, blinking, funny sounds

there is a 1000 Uf electrolytic capacitor on the power supply unit that was bought from a bad supplier. It's suffered a failure as they ALL did. Replacing it with a new 1000 Uf capacitor 16 volts or higher will fix it. Just remember they are polarity sensitive. i found mine at the dump and fixed it in less then 1 hour. The top of it will be bulging out and it could even leak

Honeywell compact fridge not cooling

Yes, listen to regular fridge for the sound of the compressor. do you hear it now? does it fill warm? Do you hear a clicking noise? Ifso, you'll need a potntial start relay, or a 3 in 1 start kit 15.00

Honeywell 88031 is not cooling. Fuse may be blown.

opj38 -
Thanks, I used your hint/tip.!!!
I have a Honeywell 88031, it was flickering the light, buzzing intermittently and not cooling.
I took the back cover off and looked at the capacitor you mentioned. (Right by the Heatsink)
It was bulged and buckled outwards. Marked 1000uF 16V
I looked around in the junk parts I have laying around and found a 1000uF 10V Capacitor. I put it in and now it works normal and cools.
I suppose I should get one rated for 16 or 25 V, but for now I am going to see if it will stay running or ?
Good Luck to others with this problem.
