The batteries are probably dead and need to be replaced. The correct batteries for model R-875 are available at shaveroutlet.com at the link below. You will need two batteries.

http://shaveroutlet.com/shaver-battery-pack-for-most-shavers-p-211.html

To replace, you will need to take off the back cover by removing the two screws. You can then access the batteries. The wires are soldered to the ends of the batteries. Unsolder the old and solder in the new.

If you are not able to do this yourself, shaveroutlet.com can do it for you. See link below

My toshiko trimmer is not getting charged, even after charging for 6 hrs it works hardly for 5 seconds and stops.what should i do?

mcdevito75 here, Sounds like the batteries won"t take a charge anymore. Refer to the Toshiko website at Tosiko.com for battery replacement, however at times the batteries cannot be replaced as they are attached to a circuit board and, you"d need to replace the shaver.

Braun Shaver 360 Complete #8985

the 110 plugin goes into a circuit which changes AC to DC for charging the internal NiCad batteries. If there is NO charge whatsoever in the batteries, the shaver will not work. If you have any electronics background a simple test with a VOM will determine if the bridge rectifier is putting out any DC.[you must disassemble the shaver] If you have no experience on circuits take it to a repair location.
