Question about LG LM-2430H2L 24000 BTU Heat and Cool Dual Zone Mini Split Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Wont cool!! We have 2 LG 2ton heat pump outdoor systems, but I believe the remotes are cool only. The 01 system cools perfect, but the 02 outdoor fan runs half as fast as the 01 system and the compressor keeps cycling on and off, and they are hot enough to burn you. I am totaly stumped on what the proble could be.... We swaped just about everything between the 2 systems and still the 01 frezzes you out while the 02 will not cool at all.. Any kind of seguestions wold be much appreciated, Thanks in advance...

U may have a heat pump thats not reversing into cooling. Any number of items can cause this. I would start with the reversing valve coil assuming its a heat pump. If your not acquainted with a reversing valve it is a 4 pipe (1 on one end and 3 on the other) with a 2 wire coil on it. This coil is usually energized in the cooling mod. It also could be low on charge or have a restriction causing the valve to stick mechanically. This means then youd need a tech If your not femilure enough at this point I would call in one you trust. Give them all the information youve gathered to that point. If you follow the 2 pipes off the compressor (1 large 1 smaller) thes 2 go to the reversing valve eventually. The smaller one usually reaches it first and there may be a canister looking devise one or both of the lines keep running down the lines and you will come to the reversing valve next. If you dont have the reversing valve it is not a heat pump and you have electric heat comming on.

If this helps you reach a conclusion please rtate me as high as you can and thank you for using fixya.

Airconditioner LG LSk181-N2 shutting off

Sounds like your aircon is stuck on heating mode. Or. The outdoor fan speed is affected by ambient temperature, or low refrigerant. In heating mode the indoor fan will come on for a while to sense temperature and will then wait for the outdoor unit to pump up pressure and build up heat.

LG PTAC acting strange in heat mode

I believe the problem in lies in the dual stage heat mode setup on the thermostat, but the unit going into defrost does make the unit act kinda strange. Even more so than other types of equipment. I would suggest hiring a licensed HVAC service technician if the problem cannot be resolved by yourself.
