What does error code ie indicate?

IE error mostly means not filling completely with water or very slow fill

Jan 31, 2016 | LG WM2688HWM TROMM SteamWasher

Tip

LG should pay you to write the manual... I've been plagued by the IE error...

IE is inlet error, displayed when "Not reached to the normal water level in spite of 10 min. water supply"

Possible cause:

  • The Water Supply Tap is closed.
  • The Water Supply is shut off.
  • The Inlet Hose is kinked.
  • The Water Pressure is very low.(below 10 psi)
  • Inlet Valve is OK?
  • The filter of Inlet Valve is clogged by impure water.
  • The Hall sensor is OK?
  • The Impeller of Air Guide is bound.
Remedy:

  • Cut power by tripping circuit breaker or unplugging power cable for ten minutes.
  • Take action on Water Supply device.
  • Measure the electric resistance of Inlet Valve. (950-1300 )
  • Clean the filter of Inlet Valve.
  • Check the frequency of Inlet Water by the Test Mode.
  • Replace the Air Braker.

HOW DO I STARTS MY WASHING MACHINE AGAIN CAUSE IT ALWAYS `IE` ERROR EVEN I ALREADY CLEAN THE FILTER,CHECK HOSE,THIS ERROR HAPPENS WHEN SOMEONE USE IT MANUAL WHEN NO WATER IN SERVICE,I MEAN HE MANUALLY

The IE or E1 error or fault code indicates that the washer is not filling with water. Check to be sure the water supply valves are open. Also, check to be sure the water supply hoses aren't kinked or clogged. Next, remove the hoses from the washing machine and run water into a bucket to test the pressure and flow of the water. If all of these check out and you have good water pressure and flow to the machine, you should replace the water inlet valve
If you are trying to use the machine manually, there needs to be enough water in the machine to tell the level sensor when to switch off the water inlet solenoid valve. Failing this, the machine will only show IE (Inlet Error) and refuse to work.

Mark, what infomation would be needed??

IE is full of leaks, don't use this one. Instead you have firefox, chrome (google), opera, safari, netscape, .... Safe browsing means safe system too -> burn a lubuntu.iso "live cd" with isoburn, for example, and boot the machine on that.
I don't understand your question, honestly. Using public computers means you must change your password regularly, and close the session cleanly (log out). How to enter safely a password on an unsafe machine ? type too many characters at random positions, erase the bad ones, write little by little the correct characters and never in the right order, etc. Good luck!

I have a LG direct drive wahing machine and its flashing IE cant find manual what does it mean please help!

An IE error code will appear if the washer has not filled with water in approximately 8 minutes. Check to make sure both hot and cold-water taps are open completely. After both valves have been opened, unplug the washer for 10 seconds and retry the wash cycle. There are filters on the inlet hose connections of the washing machine. If clogged, water will not flow through these filters into the washer. Disconnect the inlet hoses from the back of the washing machine, and clean the inlet filters gently but thoroughly. wm_inlet_filter_removal(1).jpg If this doesn't work then you will need to change the water inlet valve by removing the top panel.

Displaying IE fault code

This is an inlet error. Shut the water valves off and remove the hoses one at a time. Shine a flashlite in to where the hose screws into the machine. Check the filter screens in there for any type of debris. Yiu can remove these filter screens with needle nose pliers. Once they are cleaned and re-installed, try it again. If is still showing an error, you have a connection/valve/or control problem.

IE error code LG Tromm washer what does that mean?

IE= Inlet Error. I have struggled with this problem. After much trial and error it appears that it is due to my well water. People who have city water will probably not have this problem with this machine. Well water or hard water buyers beware. This machine is VERY much a primadonna princess capable of stopping your rinse cycle at the slightest imperfections. This is the Princess and the Pea of Washers... but I have a series of possible solutions that will have you appreciating her primadonna superiority once again.

Troubleshooting... Listen.... Does she sound like she is struggling and no water is coming in? If so then it isn't. The cycles will last forever as she makes all sorts of grunting noises. Something is preventing the water from coming in. It could also be that the pressure in to the washer is under 55 psi.

a. I have adjusted the pressure in the pumphouse to allow for minor fluctuations so that the machine will have at least 55 psi.

b. Take off the hot and cold inlet hose and clean the screen at the back of the washer. The two screens are supposed to come out of the male receptacles. They are fragile... beware. I use a squirt bottle/atomizer to clean these screens as mine chipped and will not budge.

c. You can add a screen just off the faucets so that you don't have to move the machine each and every time you get an IE error. This helps but does not solve.

d. I installed a faucet filter that I bought from Home Depot in the PVC sprinkler's section. They are made of a black plastic material and can easily cross thread, so be careful. They look about the size of a one liter container and unscrew midway to reveal a removable cylindrical mesh filter. This makes it possible to widen the surface area where tiny particles can be trapped without totally blocking flow to the inlet sensor. :-) When installing this make sure to completely rinse the hoses, and all screens coming into the machine. I took the shortcut first and thought my idea had failed only to discover that the screen behind the washer was partially blocked.

e. Periodically remove the filter and clean. Depending on the quality of your water, you may need to do this at all the points that have a screen.

I now have a screen washer between the sprinkler system filter and hose and the one that comes installed inside the male ends of the inlets for the water hoses. This has helped enormously.

f. Another possible offender is the soap and softener dispenser. To remove and clean press down on the plastic toggle piece on the soap side, the whole drawer should slide off and clean. Non-HE detergents and softeners can create a buildup of gooey gunk. Just clean it. Inside the drawer space you can clean to increase flow. I use baby wipes.

g. Make sure that the filter on the bottom is free from obstructions. If there is water in the drum, you will be flooded if you remove. This is a last resort after all the inlet lines have been cleaned and cleared.

Note: It doesn't take much to lower the flow of water to the point that this machine will not run. Since you cannot override the computer on it to run a spin cycle or even advance to remove water it can be highly frustrating. I've learned to obey my machine and just clear every last possible inlet.

Best of luck.

It stops washing and says IE. I have cleaned the pump filter, inlet filter and bought new hoses. Any suggestions?

IE is an water level and inlet water valve fault.

Being that you have verified the inlet filter and water supply there is a possibility that the electrical connector has come loose from the valve or control board. This will mean that you have to open the top of the machine to see the issue. I can give you further instruction on this if you like...

It might be a good idea to call someone in if your machine is still under warranty.

LG Washer

Greetings julie312,

The "IE" message can mean that water is not entering your dispenser. If you have traces of lime in your water or very hard water, your water inlet hose can become clogged quite easily. To clean this please do the following:

Turn off the inlet water tap.
Unscrew the water inlet hose.
Clean the filter using a hard bristle brush.
Replace filter and hose, tighten water inlet hose.

Your water inlet hose is found on the back of your machine. It is recommended to clean this every few months.

I hope this helps!

Thank you,
