Hi,

Problem Accessing a Specific Website ?

Problem accessing a specific site ? Try these solutions.

Clear your browser cache

Try clearing your browser cache. If you are unsure about how to do this; please follow this link : Click here

Sometimes this won’t work and you may need to try something else, if clearing your browser cache is not working for you then now it’s time to do a little trick. We need to flush(clear) our local DNS cache (This is very useful while you are busy moving your site; mostly because your local dns cache usually remembers the previous results for a few more minutes.) Let us see how to clear the local dns cache.

Clearing Local DNS cache (Windows)

If you are using windows then you have to open your command window (go tostart menu -> click on run -> type cmd there and press enter.), make sure you have administrative privilege to do this. Now you have to type a command inorder to clear your DNS cache.

ipconfig /flushdns

this will help you clear the local dns cache (If you are on windows vista you have to start your command prompt with administrative privilege; which can be done by typing cmd in the search field in start menuand then right click and you will see a Run as administrator option and execute the above command)

Clearing Local DNS cache (Linux)

I am using Ubuntu; by default it doesn’t come with the daemon to flush the local DNS cache; so if you are using Ubuntu linux then you will have to install nscddaemon by running the following command in your terminal.

sudo apt-get install nscd

Once nscd daemon is installed you can run by typing the following command

sudo /etc/init.d/nscd restart

If you are using other Linux flavors probably you can try this and see if it works.

try this command in your terminal : /etc/rc.d/init.d/nscd restart

Still your problem is not solved ?

Then most probably it has something to do with your Internet Service Providers DNS cache; So call then and tell your problem, they will provide you with an alternative proxy address, or they will solve the problem for you.

If you are a Virgin Meda Broadband user in UK, then try this

I use the Virgin Media Broadband; they have provided me with a new proxy address : webcache.virginmedia.com and port: 8080

(Follow the instructions here to set up your proxy settings)

Hi,
if your computer is still connected to a modem
he will take a new ip address from the modem after you flush them usualy the modem
give back the same , thats why you saw the same
info maybe.
if you are not connected to a modem try to go
to control panel -Network -setting then try to
reset it from there .

Hi,

To clear cache manually try the following:

(1) start dos console by going to start > run > type "CMD" and press enter
(2) then type IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS

If the above doesn't work then try the following THEN do the above step again:

~ Enabling DNS Cache Service ~

• To start the WinXP DNS Cache Service, click START -- RUN -- SERVICES.MSC -- Press ENTER.

• The Services console will appear.
• Navigate down the list of services until you find the one labeled DNS Client.
• Double click on DNS Client to open its properties pane. Set the Startup type to AUTOMATIC.
• Click APPLY and then click START to start this service.
• Retry the above step to manually clear your DNS Cache.
Thanks.

I can't get into my yahoo mail

If you are seeing a page cannot be displayed error from your browser, you might need to clear your cache and delete cookies. If you are using FIrefox, just click Tools and Clear Private data. If you are using IE, click Tools, Internet Options. From the Browsing History area, click Delete and Delete All. Then try going to http://mail.yahoo.com and hit refresh several times.

Also, try flushing your DNS by opening a command prompt from Start >> All Programs >> Accessories. Type: ipconfig /flushdns

Tell me if this helps. Goodluck!
