I had a similar keyboard locked issue when my cat sat on my keyboard. Turns out if you hold the right Shift key down for about 8 seconds is blocks input from the keyboard. Holding it down again for another 8 seconds will reverse the block. It worked for me. I have an HP G60 series laptop.
Try to press Fn + Num Lock or Fn + Scrl lock to check if they keyboard will respond. If it doesnt. try to turn off the computer, remove the cables and battery, press/hold the power button for 8 secs. Reinsert cables and battery then turn on the pc. Press again Fn + Num Lock or Fn + Scrl lock. If the keyboard still did not respond, go to the device manager . Click Start > right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware > Device Manager . Then click the (+) on Keyboards, right click the device and uninstall it. Then, go back to the device manager and right click Keyboard then click Scan for hardware changes. Then press FN + Num Lock or Fn + Scrl lock. If symptom persists, call HP to replace your keyboard.

If you have an external monitor, plug it in and see if you get image on it. If you do then there could be 2 things I can think about that would be the cause.
1) Your screen cable came lose. You can re-set it and problem fixed.
2) Your screen needs replacement. This solution can be pricey.
If you don't want to do this yourself then you can check this place.
If you wanna buy the screen I suggest you check this place. Great customer service and good prices. It also has a "Tools" area with tutorials of how to change screens, and many other useful things.
