Question about Dryers

1 Answer

Have a kenmore dryer model 110.66912692. Wife was using it for multiple loads today and then it stopped working. You can hear the timer ticking, and the push to start button makes a click noise like it was telling the dryer to start again. Opening and closing the dryer door cause the normal push to start button needing to be activated again, but still no drum turning and no heat. Check circuit breaker box and it was OK. Pulled panel off and by-pass thermal fuse, but dryer won't come on.

Kenmore washer model 110 82781800 won't cylce, just hear timer ticking

If the motor is going thru cycles and the agitator doesn't move, than it means the drive link snapped. cheap repair. it was made to protect the motor and trans. Read the manual before doing this. it will show you how to do it easily. iv'e done mine around 4 times. my wife keeps jamming too many clothes into the thing.
good luck

Dryer Won't Start

Make sure it has power. Then:Check the door switch. A little lever sticking down through top right of door opening. If it is not there you will need new door switch(sometimes the little lever breaks off). If it is there and does not click when you press it in you need a new door switch. if it clicks when you close the door then you have a bad thermal fuse. The thermal fuse is found by taking the back of the dryer off. The fuse is an oblong white plastic piece with 2 wires attached.

Dryer stopped working

  • first step, turn your circuit breaker off then back on.
  •  it is common for 220v appliances to trip only one side of the dual breaker resulting in a non-working machine that still seems to have power.
  • another symptom of this would be running with no heat.
if this does not solve your problem, don't give up. there is a couple other things it could be (E.g. door switch). just let me know
