Same as aricbrady's problem, the burner does a cycle like normal. Then the flame goes out. The hot surface igniter comes back on after a minute or so, no flame, and the HSI goes back out. It retries every few minutes. I have removed the back cover and throughly cleaned it out and then replaced all of the exhaust piping.

I had the same problem only a few weeks ago.
Read from other forums and found the most common solution: "replace the gas-valve coils."
I ordered the parts, replaced and found that IT WORKS!!

I hope that helps.

How do I relight the pilot light?

Hi,
There is no pilot light on many of the dryers of today. They light with a hot surface ignitor.
Here is a tip that I wrote about dryers and no heat on gas dryers...

Have a Whirlpool Gas Dryer - model # lgr7646a spins but no heat

Thre is no pilot light. This dryer uses an ignitor (glow bar or coil).
Open the lower front "door" (small access door) and turn on dryer.
If the ignitor does not glow (bright orange), then the ignitor needs to be replaced ($60).
If it does glow, then the gas valve needs replacement ($60).
If it isd the valve, the internal spring is stuck. Do not try to repair it, you must replace it.
