Dryer Timer doesn't move in Easy Care Mode

do you have heat?does it stay hot while in coll down?if so your heating element is grounded, open the door, look up and remove the two screws holding the top panel in place, pick top panel up just a little and move it to the left that should remove the top panel, put it on cool down or no heat and run it,if the heat stays on this is your problem the element is sagging and touching the metal cover around the element, the way the timer works is on timed dry it counts down like a clock until it turns off when on more or less or auto same thing the dryer starts, the heat comes on and when it hits temp. the heat shuts off when the heat is off the timer will advance to off when the heat starts again the timer stops,if the element isn't grounded then you still could have a bad element there are two elements in your dryer if one is broke the timer won't advance or some have only one element so if the timer doesn't advance you probably have no heat or a bad cycling thermostat or a bad sensor up front where the lint filter is.you'll have to check them with a meter.first thing to check is the heater located behind the drum.

Dryer spins but does not turn off when done

sounds like a bad timer stuck somewhere in the cycle, have u notice the timer knob advancing at all? Also the cycling thermostat or moister sensor, if bad may not detect the dryness properly and therefor not shut unit down.

We have an LG electric dryer Model number DLE2050W and when I turn it on it starts and runs but after awhile the illuminated board goes black, but the dryer continues to run. But it will not shut off.

I have an educated guess for you. A part of each control of a washer and a dryer is a little electric "clock". Those things can fail. I sounds like you may have a timer clock that is sticking and not advancing.
These " clocks" are a part of the times, and are not sold separately.
One way to possible tell would be to put your ear to the area of the control panel where the timer is and listen. Most of those "clocks" tick, and you can often hear them, or you can watch the dial, and it should advance with a click every so often.
Be blessed.

Dryer runs with no heat and never shuts off on its own

what are you running it on?auto or more or less,if so the timer will not advance to off without heat, usually the heat comes on,the dryer heats up until it reaches temp.the heater shuts off and then the timer will start to advance to off, when the heat comes back on the timer will stop advancing and the heat will come on,it will do this until the clothes are dry,so no heat the timer will not move, now if you put it on time dry the timer should count down no matter what just like a clock.if you open the door and look around the opening where you put the clothes in you'll see a tag with the model number send this and i can help you.

Dryer won't turn off

Timer motor is shot. Remove a wire from it and check continuity. If the timer does advance in timed dry i suggest you yank out the dryness board and clean the contacts. The dryness board is a small board with a capacitor mounted on it. The capacitor is connected to the drying sensor bars inside. As the wet clothes rub the sensor bars the capacitor gets discharged. When the capacitor gets fully charged (because the clothes are dry) then the timer motor gets power. If the contacts on the board are corroded the motor won't advance. If it advanced and shut down after only a few minutes that is dirty sensor bars (no moisture being sensed). MORE

Dryer won't shut off.

Will the timer advance in the NO HEAT mode? If it does advance you would know it has something to do with the temp alright but if it don't advance in No Heat then the timer motor is bad in my opinion. And it can fail by more than one way. Open winding OR stripped motor gear.

When I was using the dryer it beeped. I checked to see if the dryer was done and shut off. The timer was still going but dryer was not. Tried again to use it and the timer works but the dryer will not...

Hello,

The usual reason the dryer timer will advance yet the dryer won't start is a blown fuse. A blown fuse is a very common problem on a dryer,so common in fact i have written a tip covering how to check it. http://www1.fixya.com/support/r10530385-dryer_power_but_start

Timer won't advance on autosense, seems to work normally otherwise. timer advances fine on all other settings. was thinking it was the cycling thermostat, but the blower seems to be cycling. puzzled

when on auto the heat comes on and then shuts off and then the timer advances, when the heat comes back on the timer stops advancing, when on time dry the timer will advance no matter what's happening with the heat.next time send the brand name and model number so i can help you better,if it's gas you could have bad gas coils, you'll have heat for like the first 15 to 30 minutes then when the coils get hot they fail and no heat until they cool down, also if the vent line and the duct that the lint filter goes into hasn't been cleaned out the heat will shut down and if that happens the timer isn't gonna move.check that out and let me know what you find and send the brand and model number.

Amana dryer not advancing on auto

Make sure the vent from the dryer to the outside is clean.
Reduced air flow can cause your symptom.

You can remove the vent hose from the dryer and operate the dryer in the automatic cycle.'
If the timer advances you know the vent needs cleaning.
Clean the lint filter housing also.
A flashlight helps to see all the way down the housing.
