If the printer is printing nothing but blanks, try another roll of labels.

If the printer is printing blanks in between labels, it probably needs to be gap sensed. You can do this by:
1. turn the printer off.
2. hold the feed button down and then power the printer back on while still holding the feed button down.
3. release the feed button when the light flashes.
4. the printer will then regap itself
5. when the regapping is done, press the feed button once. It will print on the label that it is 'out of dump'
6. the printer should then be ready to go.

In addition to jigeo solution you need to know this, the little taken- sense button must be in the off position before this procedure works. You can then return it to the on position.

MY ZEBRA LP 2844-Z IS PRINTING BLANK, WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?

Since the LP2844 is a direct thermal printer, the first thing to check is to make sure you have direct thermal labels - regular label stock won't work. Just quickly scrape your thumbnail across the label, the friction will cause a black line if the label is direct thermal.

You can also go into your printing preferences and change the intensity or darkness of the printing. This fixed the problem for us. Good luck!

Labels come out blank using XP & Zebra TLP 2844

check the value of the darkness (Heat) in your printer driver setting. Normal range is 0 to 15. 0 being lowest heat 15 hottest. Value of 0 will cause labels to print out blank.

Look at the stocks tab in the driver. There is an area in your print driver to adjust the width/height of the kind of label you are trying to use.

TLP 2844 skips 15-16 labels then prints intended label

It sounds like they may need to set their "Q" values for the labels they are using.   If that isn't it, we may need more info - are they using Zebra brand or custom labels?
To start with, I would ask them to try adding these "Q" value commands: q456 Q152,24
If that doesn't work, then maybe they can provide the other info mentioned above so we can understand the problem better.

Zebra lp 2844 thermal printer

It sounds like it needs to be re gapped. Try this:
1. Make sure that printer power is off.
2. Press and hold the feed button.
3. Turn printer power on.
4. When the status light blinks, release
the feed button.
5. The printer advances the media to
measure and verify the length of
individual labels or tags. The printer
then prints a status summary and
remains in diagnostic dump mode.
6. To begin normal operation, tap the
feed button. The printer prints "out of
DUMP" and advances a label.
