As the Cobra 1500w inverter is constructed analogous to a high-frequency "switching" power supply, it is not recommended to modify it to exceed original specifications. For any inverter intended for applications exceeding 2000W transient peak, it is highly recommended to use a low-frequency "true-sine" inverter. Your Cobra inverter is designed for low-deman applications, and is insufficient for high-demand applications.

I have a 1000w eliminator inverter and its only putting out 100w. what do you think?

Hi....if you should be needing a 3000W inverter. No way you should use a 3000 watt inverter. Using an oversized inverter will needlessly draw power from the battery. Be aware that 100 watts of power used is 1 amp of battery power used. You have not said what size battery you have but most likely I am going to guess either a group 24 or 27, which means you only have 40-45 amps of battery power that you can use before you start damaging your battery.

I have an AIMS 3000w pure sine inverter. The inverter turns on, but no AC power from the outlets. Any tips to fix/troubleshoot this?

please get some to open your inverter and check for short in the transformer coiling .and also check the fuse .

Eliminator 3000W no 120 V power. Blinks 13.6v/0 Is there any out fuse? Overheat breaker?

this is NOT a dryer,it is an inverter,yes there is a fuse,there also is a reset on the gcfi outlet,you may have burned it out,by running a motor with it,start up on a motor can be more than 3000w,depending on the motor or inverter,the inverter was not made to run motors,read your owners manual for more info. there also could be a problem with your battery connection,check that and make sure that the inverter is getting 13.6 volts,that is why the light flashes,it isnt getting enough power

Not sure about this unit - but I can tell you how I fixed 2 of my own Xantrex inverters.

I took them apart and found that they had replaceable fuses - 400w inverter had 1 fuse and the 3000w had 12 which were blown. Replaced and all worked fine afterwards.

make sure your new inverter is made for 220 volt supply as that is what the red wire represents. its the other leg of a 220 circuit and should not be connected to your new inverter until you read the manual to see if it is designed for this and if so how to wire it in. it could cause you are the unit serious harm if you connect a 110 inverter to a 220 circuit. consult an rv repair shop or a good electrition if you cant find the needed info. it may actually be printed on the side of the inverter as well.

A pure sine wave inverter will usually allow a microwave to run quieter and cooler and more efficiently all around.

So the oven has 850 watts of cooking power?

That would mean its power consumption could be as high as 1700W while cooking, but it could surge or spike higher when it first turns on due to the inductive load it offers.

I would think a 3000W inverter should handle that, but that also depends on its peak surge wattage.

As long as the microwave works properly in a normal wall outlet, I'd say maybe it's too much for this inverter and I'd check back with the dealer on this for his input.

Bottom line: Make sure the oven works well in a wall outlet, and check your inverter's peak surge rating.
