Question about LG Art Cool LA121HNP Split System Air Conditioner

1 Answer

For some reason after I switched it off last night then switched it back on some time later it didn't work. It looks like it is going to start say i put it on 23 there is a star and a drip under it next to the 23 and next to that the circle with a vertical line through it. The bottom comes down like it is going to blow air and then it suddnely goes back up after about 1 minute and displays CH then 05. I have done everything I can think of including turning it off at the mains for at least 10 mins and back on. Resetting the remote. I have changed the remote bateries as they were displaying low then reset the remote and switched off and at the mains again. It si driving me crazy! I have left it for at least 10 - 15 mins at a time to see if it would work to no avail. Thanks

Hi,
CH05 means a error code. This error code means there is a communication error between the indoor unit and the out door unit.this is usually caused by wiring errors condensate pumps connected to the inter-connecting cable. The communication between the units is a fluctuating DC voltage commonly called a serial signal, it can be easily lost if the wiring is not done correctly. If there is a communication error fault CH05 will appear within 5 mins of powering up the system.
The cause is due to electrical noise entering the
communication cable through the Ground (Earth) wire of the Indoor PCB.This problem, occurs only with LG conditioner..If you don't have hands on it please call the service center and ask them to do.

Turn on the power and start the indoor unit in cooling, set the temperature to 18ºC; the serial communication signal will only be present for the first 3 min of operation.
Set your meter to DC Volts, Test between terminals 2 and 3, of the outdoor unit and wiring terminals you should see 0-65 V dc, it will be fluctuating. If the Voltage is not present disconnect the inter unit wiring, test the Voltage on the wiring terminals again, If No Voltage is present the outdoor PCB must be faulty.Once the signal has been detected leaving the outdoor unit check what is being received by the indoor unit, measure DC Voltage across the wiring terminal 2 and 3, it should be identical to what you saw at the outdoor unit, if not your wiring is at fault.

sounds like a CDI issue!
could also be an ignition switch or run/stop switch issue.
is the bike lacking any power when running?
Maybe stator pick-up coil as well.
Have electrical components checked at the dealer.

If "tapping" the SOLENOID ever worked... you
HAVE A DEFECTIVE SOLENOID.

Defective is all inclusive... and when "STUFF"
happens (burns up)... it is VERY LIKELY to cause
COLATERAL damage...

(FRIED WIRES & IGNITION SWITCH)
((fix that "STUFF" later)).

At the SOLENOID ... apply "B" battery DIRECTLY
to the "S" terminal of the SOLENOID...

IF it does not fully spin up the starter 100% of the time
the solenoid or the starter is DEFECTIVE.

Hi
Pop into to your local garage and have a diagnostic test carried out.
Listen to the advise given. It may save you lots of money, especially if you start the "guessing" game.
It does sound like a part may be blocked or failed though, but the sytem needs to be tested thoroughly first.
Good luck

I think you have a faulty door switch, you should try to replace it. Normally located at the top of the door frame.

Driving down highway last night and lowbeams turned off. High beams worked, couple of miles later, low beams came back on.

You may want to check the terminals at the back of the headlight. Normally this is caused by loose connections. Other than that check the rest of the wiring and the relay.

Intermittently have to use charger to start.

the most common cause of this by far is lights left on by defective switchs, these include the map lights in the visors, the glove box light due to a defective switch, the trunk light and the hood light if equipped, check it at night and look for a faint glow, the other much less common cause is the alternator has a defective diode and allows a small current to pass to ground drawing the battery down..
