Question about LG Washing Machines

1 Answer

My washer is a 2005 LG Tromm #WM2277HW. My daughter has used it for a few years and I have just got it back today. In the process of doing my first load of laundry the light keeps blinking IE or 1E? I tried a different setting from quick cycle to perma press and it still acted this way? I do not know where the manual is, it wasn't returned with my machine. Do you have an answer for me? Thanks, Debbie

This is your water frequency. Check to make sure your water is turned on. If that is not the problem, Take your hoses off the machine and look at the filter screen on the inlet valve. If that's not it. It could be the inlet valve is bad. Good luck. Give me a rating if I am correct. Good luck!

Why is my LG TROMM frontloader dryer making a loud noise when running?

If the washer is making a loud noise the rear drum with bearing might need to be replaced. On this washer the bearing might not be sold separately, the entire rear drum might have to be replaced. This is a very involved repair and will require disassembling most of the washer. However, the problem is going to get worse very quickly and so either the drum and bearing will need to be replaced or the washing machine.

"LG Tromm WM2277HW will not

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

LE error in your LG front load washer is displayed when either the motor is not working or the control board thinks that the motor is locked up. A Hall effect sensor is used in these washer which monitors the speed and direction of the motor and then forwards this information to the control board. Hope you understand by now that this LE error is displayed when their is an issue with the motor or when the hall effect sensor sends wrong signal to the control. Conclusion is you'll have to check both motor and hall sesor and replace the part# that is bad, usually I have seen the sensor going bad. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Not completing cycle error IE

IE is a water supply error. turn water off to machine and unscrew your 2 water hoses on back of machine and clean inlet screens with old toothbrush. if they are clean, you probably have a stuck closed water solenoid.

LG TROMM displays LE

LE stands for Load Error,
First try unplugging the machine for a few minutes and then retry a cycle. If you still get the LE error:

The Hall sensor (part number 6501KW2001A) has failed. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty (in the US). Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, it might rate a 4. This should be a Fix-Ya for your machine, and at basically no cost!
In the US, find a service provider using your zip code at http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp or call LG at 800-243-0000
