Question about Sharp Aquos LC-M3700 37 in. HDTV-Ready LCD Television
Page 61 of the manual shows how to bypass the pin if the pin number is forgotten with the remote, however you need the factory remote as a universal won't work. If you knew the pin number a universal remote would work to enter the numbers, but i'm guessing that you don't know the pin number in this case and there is no other way to reset it without having the original remote. These monitors were made for commercial use and have a pin lock to protect the settings in from being tampered with in a commercial installation.

You will prob. have to order a new original remote. It has the options on it to change from analog to digital. I don't believe there are any options in the menu or buttons on the tv that switch between the two.

Sharp is taking care of this for customers even if you are out of warranty due to a mistake on how they made the tv. All you have to do is call Sharp at 1-800-237-4277. Please make sure that the repair shop also applies 2 firmware updates that all the D6U tv's need to avoid other known issues with the lcd in the future. These firmware updates are for the main cpu PH1UU112 and the monitor MD1UA104. Good luck!

Try encompassparts.com and see if they have the original remote. The channels you are getting are digital channels. You are going to have to get it back to analog channels.

Are you sure it is the remote that has stopped working? If you get something like a camera phone and put it over the LED on the remote and press the buttons (with the phone in camera mode) the camera will pick up the infered signal from the remote. This will rule out if it is the TV or remote.
If you get the infered signal then your TV is faulty (possibly a main pcb fault) if you dont then it is your remote. Which as far as I am award you can not reprogram, but you can get them from places on the internet (search on google) for a couple of 10 pound.
