Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I have a dell inspiron n4030 and im trying to use the alt + 164 to type the n with the ~letter and i can't.,, What do i need to do so this can function?

If you have a separate numeric keypad, then use that with the Alt key to type ñ. Otherwise, you can try using NumLk which activates a part of your existing keyboard to input numbers (NumLk is active when the little padlock icon with the number 1 in its middle is lit up). You may need to press the Fn key along with the key marked NumLk to toggle NumLk. Once NumLk is on, then you should be able to use the numeric keypad portion of the keyboard to input alt + 164 to type ñ. Hope this has helped you.

Why my asus a3000 keyboard not function correctly when i push U I O P the function is number when i push this key

NumLk (Numbers Lock) has been turned on. Pushing U I O P results in 4 5 6 * and pushing J K L results in 1 2 3. NumLk allows a block of keys on the right side of the keyboard to function as a numeric keypad to facilitate easier entry of numbers or numeric related data. There is an indicator that will be on when NumLk is on. To turn NumLk off, you need to push the key that has NumLk on it. It may be combined with a function key in which case you will need to hold down the Fn key while pushing the NumLk. If you manage to push the right key(s), the NumLk indicator should turn off and the keyboard will revert back to its normal operation (without the numeric keypad).

The keyboard is locked. Instead of letters, it gives me numbers

Click Fn+Numlk as this switches your keyboard to the numbers printed in blue. Pressing that combination again, puts the keyboard back to normal. The Fn key will switch the function keys to the designated lower operation, so your F11 key has the NumLk operation controlled by the Fn key

Keyboard Produces Numbers Instead of Letters when Num Lock key is on. For example here is what I get when pressing the keys from Q all the way over to the \ key on that row of keys when I have the caps off...

I have the same problem. Click the Windows start button. At the bottom is a Windows Serach box. Type 'keyboard'. A virtual keyboard appears. Click the NumLock key on the Virtual Keyboard. This should override the issue you are having and your keyboard and keys should now work. Otherwise reboot!

How to control Asus A6R Fn keyboard? when I type key u screen show 4,press p show= -,press k = 2

It looks as though you have Numbers Lock turned on. On my Asus x58C this is tuned on and off using the blue Fn and NumLk keys. When its turned on there is a padlock symbol located above the keyboard which is lit. If it is, then hold down Fn then press NumLk and it should turn off. Hope this helps you

Asus X58Cseries with Windows Vista Basic has $ sign on 4 key but no pound sign. Any way of getting it? If not, I can live with it but would like to know either way.Cheers, Linda.

I'm an Asus X58C user in the UK and my keyboard is the same. I've not found an easy solution. The only way I can insert a £ character is this. Place your coursor where you want the character. Turn Numbers Lock on using the blue Fn and NumLk keys. Hold down the Alt key and then using the blue numbers keys type 0163. Release the Alt key and the £ character will appear. Turn Numbers Lock off using the blue Fn and NumLk keys again. Its laborious but it works, its how I typed it here. I also found out that if you hold down Ctrl and Alt and then press the 4 key, you type the euro character €. Hope this helps

Keyboard Stuck in Function (Fn) Mode

To unlock number lock (numlk):

Depend on comp, but try pressing (at same time)
fn + f11
or
fn + Scroll/numlk (next to f12)
or
f12 + Scroll
or
f12 + Scroll + fn
or
ctrl + Shift + Scroll

or in BIOS there is a numlk option
