Question about Televison & Video
Most satellite channels are encoded, you must have an payed account with the provider to see them. The pirated codes which came with the receiver and you have used are old and they have been deactivated.
The USB channel thingy is just a way to load all the new channels in your receiver automatically, otherwise you would have to do the scanning and programming yourself - it's a way to save you some work, not to give you channels for free.
