Ok, I'm assuming your using this for a Television because your in the Flat Panel Television solutions. If you are using this for a monitor, you might need to check your video card drivers and your video card its self could be giving out.

Any how, if you are using this as a television, then right off I would have to say. Check your power button your remote, make sure its not sticking, also check the TV power button and make sure it is also not faulty and causing the TV to power on and off rapidly.

Next, check to see if the cables are all plugged in and secure. No lose connections, your power socket is stable and the power plug is not mid way or being kicked half out of the socket.

Now then, if these are checked and no other reason for the cause I would have to assume unfortunately your LCD is giving out.

The screen goes blank after 1 second display, flicks back again to the display for 1 second and back to blank, this goes on non stop. The little led next to the on/off button goes from green to yellow...

pandres, Your monitor will need troubleshooting to find out reason why the 2 "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" fail to remain lighted. They provide "white light" so you can see what is on the lcd panel. Connect a "known good" monitor to your pc to prove monitor is bad. If pc is ok, then your monitor will need repair. This type problem not new and is very common for all brands of ccfl back-lit lcd monitors. Watch some video clips at YOUTUBE that show disassembly and repair of ccfl lcd monitors. Do you have surge protector installed? If not, you should use one, something like MONSTER CABLE.

Screen goes blank while typing

Connect an external monitor to the laptop and power it up, if you see a clear image on an external monitor, this means your video card is OK.

If you see a dim image or flicking image on the LCD screen it means you have a backlight problem.

Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

This must be a loose connection on the lcd behind the lid or in the hinge, I would not atempt a repair, laptops are a nightmare, take to a specialist repairer.

Blank LCD screen?

Its probably a broken flex cable or the LCD is bad now because of all the flicking going on?? The flex cables about 15 bucks depending on where you get it but if your not good with really tiny electronics I would let a pro do the repair for you as you can cause alot of damage, as you could break other flex cables just taking it apart. Good Luck
