Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I bought a "Living Solutions" Brand Universal Remote to control my SONY tv. It lacks a (Code Search) Button. It has a INPUT tv-vcr button, OK button and a button that looks like a speaker with a line through it (Mute). I have seen pictures of a remote online that looks exactly like mine but mine lacks the CODE SEARCH button. How do I program this to work on a SONY tv? Here is additional info from a small sticker on the back: C17G0801 (ITEM#606426) Hope this helps. Thank you, Shawn.

For the Item: Living Solutions Colossal 3-in-1 (606426)

Look in this link (it's the manual for the remote). It may help. Just copy the link to the address bar & download the file. It's a zip folder.

Living solutions Jumbo remote programming

Jumbo remotes all seem to come from the same source regardless of the "brand". I do not see a code listed for your Trutech TV so you will have to do a code search. To do a search:
1. Turn on the TV
2. Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button until the red indicator stays on, then release the button
3. Press and release the TV button. The indicator blinks once.
4. Point the remote directly toward the front of the TV
5. Press the on-off button (top right) down until the indicator stays on
6. The indicator flashes until your TV turns off.
7. Press the ENTER button to store the code.

If the TV code is correct, you should be able to control the built-in DVD using the appropriate buttons on the remote. You just have to press the DVD button to do this.

I need the code for the remote control for my new tx-l32u10ba tv so i can use the sky remote. thanx M

so about universal remote controls:

YOU SHOULD FIRST READ THE USER MANUAL OF THE SPECIFIC UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL. ( i myself have an universal remote control and i lost its manual and appliance code table... so i can`t do anything with it.... )

1. each universal remote control has its own table with supported TVs, DVDs, STEREOs, VCRs etc.
2. For each brand of equipment (e.g.: Samsung TV, Phillips STEREO, Sony VCR) the universal remote control has a set of codes which you must input in the universal remote control and see how good it works; keep the code whith which the universal remote control that does the most.
3. There is also a quick search mode where you keep the SET button pressed for X seconds or press the SET button and the appliance you want to control or press SET button and input a code that defines the type of appliances you want to control and hit the power button each 2-3 seconds. if the appliance reacts then press any other button.

Code list for universal remote control-name brand is living solutions

This is what the manual says: Prgoramming the remote using PowerScan: 1. Manually turn OFF the device you wish to program (TV, VCR, DVD) 2. Press and hold the apprpriate device key (TV, VCR, DVD) until the red LED illuminates. This indicates that the Remote is in Programming mode. 3. Press and release the power key. The LED flashes once and stays ON, indicating that the remote is in PowerScan mode. 4. Press either the CH+ or CH- key Button repeatedly until the device switches ON. The CH+ Button searches upward in the code list, while the CH- key searches downward. (So since I have a Toshiba tv, I elected to search upward to get to 'T' faster. 5. When the device turns on, press and release the OK Button to store the new code and exit. To exit without setting the code, press the GO BACK Button. NOTE: If you press CH+ or CH- again after the device turns on, the device will not be programmed; you will need to repeat Steps 1-5 again. 6. Press and other operable key (VOL+/VOL-). If the device responds, no further programming is required. If not, repeat Steps 1-5.
