About the small connectors, there is white text printed into the motherboard showing what goes where.

about the drives, check your cables.

There is usually a set of pins on the corner that are labeled get a magnify glass and light up the board take the glass and look down on one of the corners it is usually on the right corner of the bottom of the board at the bottom of the desktop case. You will usually see a series of abbreviations. LED, HDD, PWR, RES or RE the pins are marked. Now on the wires to the power button you will see the same wire abbreviations. Just hook up the HDD wire to the HDD pin the PWR to the PWR button wire and so on. RESET wire is RE or RES etc. Those really are the only three you will need. Not sure of the exact abbreviations. But they are lettered enough for you to match them. The best thing to do is try to download the board specs and get a look at the pins one side is neg and the other is positive it would be to your best interest to find the mother board specs for you mother board since you went all over the internet and could not find the board specs. just match the LED and the others they are marked PWR is the main and HDD is just showing when the HDD is working. The reset is for the button to reset the computer. It is basic and not that complicated really. Thanks for using FixYa! John

short power switch pins on mother board, reset bios, short green wire to black wire on ATX connector with all drives etc.. power cables disconnected to test power supply. i suspect you have a dead motherboard.

Can i take the mother board out and put it in a gaming tower medium size..

you can if the power switch/reset bottun/power led/hdd led are not proprietary and banded together into a single **** plug. and if the mounting holes and setup will accept a gateway motherboard. but the power switch pin setup is what is the deciding factor in this switch. two wires going into a two prong female little black plug. the same for power led, reset switch yada yada. your gaming case is going to have these. if they match, then go for it it will work. oh and be sure to check the distance between the processor heatsync and fan combo to the power supply. some cases bunch them too close together and in some cases they wont fit in the case, i.e. the powersupply being 2 inches into where the cpu cooler unit should be :(

Accidently un-setaed three jump switches --Power EW,Power LED, HD

If your talking about the pins on the mother board for the on power switch, HDD LED, reset, power led, and system speaker you would need to note the make and model of *********** board. If you look very closely you should see little letters for example , PWS, HDD,RST,PCS,PLED, These mach up to the pins on the motherboard. also most commonly the PC speaker has an open pin so it will be 3 pins long and not just 2. To find the make and model of a motherboard you can find a name and a group of numbers something like " Intel A33Y97 " and then google for more information if needed.

There are may motherboards, but most have writing on them as to what is suppose to plug where. For example, for the power switch, the lettering might be "Pwr" or "Power" or "Pwr sw". The pins are usually together and should fit the plug on the end of the wire.

T6410 EMACHINE TRYING TO CONNECT START BUTTON

The motherboard in your computer is an MSI MS-7145, which is also called RS480M. You can download a copy of the manual here. The front panel connections are on page 2-20.

Looking at the header JFP1, pins 1 through 9 (odd numbers) are the front row, pins 2 through 10 are the back. Pin 10 is the missing pin. The power switch connects to pins 6 and 8. The power LED connects to pins 2 and 4. The HDD LED connects to pins 1 and 3. The reset button, if used, connects to pins 5 and 7.
