Question about Philips Gemini CDX-602 Dual CD Player with Jog Wheel, Looping, Auto-Callbration, Digital Output CD Player

1 Answer

I have a CDX-602 CD Player. I was on a gig the other night I placed a cd in the tray. I pressed the button to close the tray and a cord was wedged so that the tray would not close. Naturally the tray automatically reversed and opened, but when it closed it made a noise and it did not open again. The tray I believe was wedged off the track. I managed to jar the tray open and it works EXCEPT...the tray will not stay closed. It opens up automatically. I put in a cd, press the button to close, and it closes, but after 5 seconds it opens again. Help, Please advise. Thank you in advance!!

The gears have probably come out of sync, meaning the tray is riding on the limit switch. You need to remove the deck, dismantle and re-sync the drawer mech. Check the limit switch isnt bent, it's quite flimsy

A disk is stuck in my Harmon Kardon player. The door will open and close and I can see the disk but cant' get it out.

turn on the unit and then tried to press the play button while the cd tray is in place. if doesn't work, unplug the dvd player then open the cover to access the internal part. look for a broken limit switch for cd tray mechanical assembly or check weather the cd not in proper place in the tray that is why an error occur.

Looking for power cord for gemni cdx-602

The most likely places to find a power cord, Radio Shack, Service Shops, or specialty electronic stores. If you still come up empty handed you may need to order a replacement cord from the company as a last resort.

My only thought to this would be did you remove the shipping screw from the deck before you installed it? There is usually 1 maybe 2 screws they put in the deck to keep the parts inside stationary while the unit is being shipped.

My xbox 360 tray wont stay close how do i fix it

Do you mean the CD tray won't stay closed? If so check the simple things first. The button that you push to open and close the tray is actually a lever that pushes a much smaller button below it. Make sure that your eject button is not stuck down for some reason. Check your cd tray and the bay to make sure nothing got inside that is preventing the cd tray from closing all the way. I believe if something gets in the way the tray will automatically re-open. You can also take some compressed air and blow out the cd tray to remove any debris that may be blocking the tray from closing.
If none of the above simple steps work I believe it boils down to 2 things. 1. An object inside the case or tray that is preventing it from closing all the way or... 2. The eject button is stuck down.
If your comfortable with it you can take apart your xbox case and remove your CD/DVD player and ensure the button works properly. You can do a search on this site or youtube for instructions on how to take the case apart if needed. Once the case is apart the CD/DVD player is easily removed. You will then notice that the switch you press on the outside of the Xbox to open and close the CD/DVD tray is actually a lever that presses a much smaller switch directly on the front of the CD/DVD unit. You can then test your eject switch directly by pressing the button directly with a ball point pen or a pin. If the bay does not open and close properly at this point it may be necessary to replace the CD/DVD player and I do not know if it can be replaced or not. Hope this helps.

CDX-CA680- Cd player not working,

You are probably making the same mistake I did. The CD should be inserted BEHIND the front of the radio in the slot provided, press open on the front of the radio and all will be revealed! The CD trays underneath the radio are for storage only! Hope this solves the problem for you.

According to manual code simply means electrical or mechanical fault - not extremely helpful.

Try to disconnect and reconnect power and it perhaps will reset the problem.
