This set uses two of the STK-392-120 OR -110 CHIPS FOR THIS PROBLEM.

BOTH and any bad protect resistors will need to be replaced, total parts cost on EBAY under 25 dollars.

I can tell best way to get at them and do the repair--it involves soldering as each chip has 18 pins and is soldered in.

Chips (viewed from back of set) should be side by side on metal heat sinks with fins.

See attached photo of typical convergence problem.

if this told you something you did not know, rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

If you have the manual for this TV see if tells you how to reset the convergence. What setting the convergence basically does is align the colors. Sometimes if you move the TV the colors can get out of align

I have an HP7540 monitor that I need to be able to change red, blue and green colors on thru the menu

I hope you know how to enter and navigate through the OSD (On-Screen Display) menu of your monitor.
Enter the menu and navigate to 'Color' menu.
Under that select 'User'.
Now you can select either Red, Green or Blue.
After selecting a color it can be increased or decreased.
Press Exit button to go back, select the next color and set it to your liking.

Blurry and colors are seperated red green white

if you are viewing from a projection tv, chances are you have to go thru the menu of the tv to 'picture tuning'. here it gives you different things that could be fixed. one to look for is 'lamp alignment'. It should show all the colors and lines with directions to bring them into focus. This should fix the blurriness and 3-d red/green/white separations. hope this helps you!

Convergence

If the red isnt responding via the remote you will need to replace the STK392-110 Ics as the service menu adjustment will not correct it 100% due to the IC being faulty and the red and half the green is controlled by one IC and the blue and other half of green is controlled by the second IC so without changing both ICs the set will progressively get worse. Both ICs are stk392-110. You can get replacements at the following link along with instalation instructions
