If the fuse is good, it may be an open thermostat or thermal cutout (TCO) / thermal fuse on or near the magnetron or on top of the cavity / body of the oven.

If it goes dead for a while during or after cooking then comes back on, the magnetron is probably overheating and causing the magnetron thermostat to open.

Then when it cools, it closes the circuit and allows power through again.

When checking TCOs or thermostats, if it has a hood fan thermostat, that should read open, as opposed to the others, which should read closed.

So don't let that fool you.

You can find exploded views and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Accessing some components (TCOs, for example) for testing and possible replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

We're happy to help you with free advice and we'd appreciate your thoughtful rating of our answer.

My microwave/convection oven will not heat up, but the lights and clock work

Hello

Look to see if the microwave power cord is securely plugged into a live power outlet. The power cord cannot be loose for proper function. Move other appliances to a separate outlet if possible.

Replace or reset the circuit breaker or fuse if blown or tripped.

Unplug the microwave and wait several seconds before plugging it back in to reset.

Make sure there are no current functions in use. Press "Clear/Off" to cancel any other settings or programs already in progress.

Select a new cooking program and then select "Cook Time." Make a time selection and press the "Start/Pause" pad to begin cooking.

GE MICROWAVE MODEL JVM1750DM1WW NO POWER AT ALL. HAVE ALREADY CHECKED THE OUTLET AND CHECKED THE BREAKER. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WORKING.

If the microwave control panel doesn't light up, then your fuse is blown. unplug the microwave. unscrew the vent grill, (2) screws at the top of the microwave. then you should see 1 screw holding the control panel. after removing that screw, gently push up then out. there should be a metal plate on top of the control panel. remove that plate and the fuse will be in that opening. replace fuse and microwave should begin working.

It does not start up and have already replaced the control board

Beffore the control board was replaced it was important to check that the power supply was correct. Hope the secondary/main transformer is working.if supply is not coming to the main board check the fuse and this sub transformer.
A check will indicate that the line is correct and the power comes to the board. If the board is not acitve then the front panel touch board could be faulty. Also check the main capacitor for the magnetron to function or the magnetron itself..
Hope you try this out.

Does not turn on power suppy is ok

Hello there:
If you have already checked the fuse that is inside of the microwave and it appears or is known to be good than the circuit board that the fuse sits on is faulty or the sensor for the touch pad is bad
there are several capacitors that controle different features of this microwave and unfortunatly when one of these small capacitors blows it affects the whole board
the good news is that the board is replaceable normally around $50-75 dollars ok
hope that this is very helpfull for you
best regards michael

No power

your fuse is definately blown. possibly moisture. if you replace exact fuse and it blows again, powerside is defective.little bit tricky then as you have diodes, capacitor and magnatron also transformer to check. these need testing equipt.if you decide to press on, caution, capacitor is fully charged and dangerous.
