1. You can get whole image of your current disks including installed application, hardware drivers and even the OSs itself. When your computer crashes, you can restore the image onto your computer. You can investigate some softwares that does disk imaging via this link: http://disk-imaging-software-review.toptenreviews.com/

2. The other way without imaging, you can copy manually the important files to an external disk or such kind of backup unit.

regards.

How do I refresh my micro scan disk?

With the scandisk inserted in your computer, locate the drive where you inserted and the file folder with the data you want to erase and delete or empty the file folder. If you do not have an available drive to place the scandisk, connect the media device with the scandisk included and locate the data via drive/file folder. You can locate the drive/file folder by clicking start>computer>drivelocation>scandisk folder.

I would try several different USB slots if you haven't already. Unfortunately, if it doesn't light up, there's not much you can do, other than take it to a specialist. Sorry.

I don't found free drivers

There are not drivers for the CPU itself. You need to figure out what motherboard you have and get the drivers for that.

I have a newcomputer and do not know how to install and use the SanDisk. I have it plugged into the port but don't know if it is installed or not and if it is, how do I go about saving files to it.

Hi,

Sandisk USB Thumb Drive or memory card
They are plug and play so just plugging it in makes it work
You dont need any additional software

Go To "My Computer"
You should see "Removable Disk or Drive"
Just double click on it to open the drive

Then copy and paste or drag your files onto it

Hope this helps, please rate!

My previous hp computer crashed due to spyware infection. I manually back up my maxtor performed 3-4 days prior to infection. Will the Maxtor files be safe to download into my new computer?

Well since you've said that you computer crashed due to a spyware infection and that you backed up your maxtor some days to the infection, there is every likelihood that the maxtor will also be infected. My advice to you will be to first of all scan the maxtor file with a very strong anti virus before sending it to your new computer or else you will end up loosing your new computer if the maxtor file also contain the spyware infection.

Stopped working COMPLETELY!!!!

Had same problem.

I wiggled back and forth the part that goes into the USB port and the drive was recognized and I could copy my files onto my hard drive.

I had this problem with a different make USB flash drive and used the same procedure to get the files back.

I think that some connection inside the flash drive works loose after a while.

I am not going to trust these drives for files storage, but only to transfer files.

Unfortunally the only solution to your problem is to replace the hard drive. To recover your files i would recomend the following software in this website: http://www.unistal.com/prevent-data-loss.html Please let me know how it went, Vincent
