SOURCE: alert! system protection failure password:.... toshiba satelite

Windows XP attempts to "protect" certain "critical system files" -- to prevent a computer-virus from changing those critical files. A "failure" suggests that a computer-virus has SUCCEEDED in changing one (or more) of those files, and that Windows has detected that the file has been modified/replaced.

When I start my Laptop I, the screen comes with a message, "ALERT: System protection failure! Password =

You may try to insert the original operating system disc and fixing the boot process. Some computers do not offer an operating disc, thus you may have to use the Restore function. When booting, hit the F8 key and start up in the safe mode. Search for the Restore function and go from there. The problem is you did not state what version of Windows your using and it is difficult to navigate without that information.
