The contact list is in your hard disk, not on a particular IC on the motherboard.
You can retrieve it by trasfering the harddrive to another computer or placing it in a USB external HDD box.
The contact list's file depends on the email program you are using to read and send emails. In case you are using Outlook Express, the folder C:\Documents and Settings\<YOUR_USER_NAME_HERE>\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book
contains the file.
Anyway, you check the wires from the power supply to the motherboard. You're missing some cable connection and that's why your computer cannot start. Check the long power connector with many colored wires, check the additional power "ATX" connector with 2 yellow and 2 black wires, check the thin 2-wire cable from the Power button to the appropriate pins on the motherboard. Also your power supply may be faulty and you can try to replace it with your old one from the old case.

Retrieving deleted contacts

Unfortunately this depends on how you stored the contacts and where you deleted them from. Contacts can be stored on the SIM card or directly in the phones memory. You can also move and copy the contacts both ways. If you go into your address book, and select the menu option (typically the top left button), you should see something about SIM management. This option will allow you to try and retrieve what contacts you may have on the SIM card. Hopefully all you did was delete the contacts on the phone itself, and you still of most of them on the SIM.

Hope this helps and good luck!

How to Retrieve Deleted Contacts from a BlackBerry?

To retrieve deleted contacts from the call log is a simple task that can be achieved by accessing the call log on the BlackBerry handset. However, if the deleted entry wasn't listed on your call log, BlackBerry Desktop software is the only solution for you. It's a tool for backing up and restoring phone data to your computer. According to BlackBerry, you must regularly back up files to your computer so you can recover device data if it ever gets lost, stolen or corrupted. To recover the deleted contacts using the latter method, you must already have the backup file saved on your PC. <br /> <i><b>Instructions</b></i> <br /> <b>Retrieving an Unsaved Contact</b> <br /> 1. Hold down the "ALT" key on your BlackBerry. 2. Type "LGLG." 3. Press "Menu" &gt; "Options." 4. Scroll down into the events list, and press "Menu." 5. Select "Hide All Types." 6. Scroll down the list, and highlight the "PhoneApp" option. 7. Press "Menu." 8. Select "Toggle Filter." 9. Select "Menu" and choose "Save." Now all calls and numbers dialed from your phone will be shown to you. You will have to do a lot of digging to find the particular deleted number you're looking for. When you find it, select the particular entry to see the full number. <br /> <b>Retrieving Contacts through Backup</b> <br /> 1. Connect your BlackBerry to the computer through its USB data cable. 2. Launch BlackBerry Desktop software with which you had backed up your data earlier. Go to "Start" and search for the "BlackBerry Desktop" program. 3. Click the "Device" tab on the application window. 4. Click "Restore." Select a backup file that contains the contacts that are to be restored. You will find contacts under the "Organizer" tab. Simply check the box next to "Contacts." 5. Click "Restore." The deleted contacts will then be restored, after which you can disconnect the USB cable. <br />

Frozen screen, how do I retrieve my contact list

Hello. Do not dispair as your contact list is definitely retrieveable. Begin by removing the battery for two minutes, with the phone unplugged. This will cause your phone to reset and may unfreeze your screen. If your screen is still frozen take your phone to your phone store where they will safeguard your contact list and repair your phone. DO not do a hard reset as this may cause you to loose all of your data and your precious contact list. Regards, Joe

Loose contact date

It sounds like you may have performed a master clear on your device. If this is the case all that old information is gone for good and there is no way to retrieve it. Cell phones do not have an "undelete" function or any way to retrieve information once it has been deleted.

My old LG cell phone (LGCU400) broke and was replaced with a newer model (LGECU515). I put my old sim card in the new phone but I cannot retrieve any of my contacts/info from the sim card. Is there...

Hello!
I went to the AT&T/Cingular store and they tried hooking my broken phone to their system but could not retrieve any #s (they were saved to my phone not my SIM). They told me there was no other way to retrieve the #s and that a computer cable wouldn't work bc their system would've been able to retrieve them. I knew there had to be some way of retrieving them bc I could still turn my phone on- the top 1/2 (screen) had just broken off.
It finally dawned on me to look at my husband's phone (we had the same one), write down the buttons to press & the # of clicks per button on my old phone, in order to blindly go through my entire contacts list and save each one to my SIM card. Approximately every 25 contacts I saved I'd switch the SIM card to my new phone and make sure they were all saving correctly. I'm currently still transferring all 137 contacts- grueling but well worth it. This only works if your old phone will still turn on & function even if you can't see/use the screen.
***Make sure your phone's saving your contacts to your SIM and not your phone- I thought mine was and it was one rude awakening today when I found out otherwise! I hope this helps!
