Hi,

I would love to provide you with few of the repair shop, however i need to have at least the brand name.

I appreciate your love for the VCR, however, to be honest with you - It is better to invest in the new VCR. The cost of VCR has been on it's low for a long time. I am afraid, but i have seen people spending more money in repair than to buy a new one which would have more features and would not cause any problem in the next few years.

Still, if you would like to give a shot, revert and i would love to tell you the repair shops for your equipment. If you have the model number, that would be more helpful.

Good Luck!!

Thanks!!

VCR won't eject tape - timing of loading mechanism is off

Now-a-days most of the gears are made out of plastic(HDPE, if I remember correctly), when the rewinding command is given even if one gear tooth is worn/broken it will throw the entire timing out of 'gear'. Since the problem has already occurred, and, this is the only function that has malfunctioned my advice would be to leave it as it is! ('cos repairing/replacing it is manual & therefore a costly affair plus there is no guarantee that the replacedment will function properly)....sodeep

Best guess...put audio cd into DVD side, Video tape into VHS side. Set the VHS to record in SP, Then record the cd to vhs. then when you are done recording on the vhs, put a blank DVD in the recorder side, and press dubb to DVD to get it to record from vhs to Dvd.

How to retrieve a stuck tape in a VCR

Unplug the VCR, take the cover off, find the motor (probably on the right side of the mechanism) and turn it's shaft with your fingers until you have run the tape back out. Now plug it back in and try it again with a scarificial tape. If it continues to fail, replace all the rubber belts in the mechanism.

Tape Ejects Immediately

There are normally 2 causes. One is some obstruction in the tape path. Please open the cover of the VCR and shake and see for foriegn objects. Nothing??? Then there is one more possibility - Belts are loose.. Check the Tape Loading motor belt.Is it slack? This can happen over time.Change the belt.

VCR tape stuck

Yes, it is a mechanical problem. While the tape is in fast forward the gears are engaged and locked to provide drive to the spindel on the right, however when you press the rewind button without hitting stop, the gears try to engage the spindel on the left without stoping and reversing (changing rotational positioning), this causes the motor to stop (this emulates a tape jam)the tope is left in and the unload mechanism never spools the tape back in because the motor has stopped. To free the tape, what I do is open up the unit and find the main motor check to see if the belt has slipped, if it has not try to manually spin the motor to engage the unload mechanism and eject the tape.
