Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ8 Digital Camera

1 Answer

I have a Lumix cameera, Model # DMC-FZ8. I recently installed a new memory card because the one that came with the camera began to malfunction. The new memory card is now having the same problem. The camera tells me "memory card is full" when there are no photos in the camera. I have checked the camera by hooking it up to my computer and it shows no photos in the camera.

Put it in play mode and see if there are pictures on the card (if the card wasnt brand new, of course) If not the card more than likely needs to be formated. In play mode push menu set button go to format when it says delete all data in memory card select yes.

I Lost my CD software for my Lumix DMC-FZ8 and I have a new computer to load my pictures on to. How do I load these pictures onto my computer?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.

This should help
Press [ menu set] to display the [PLAY] mode

You can copy recorded picture data from
the built-in memory to a card or vice versa.
1 Press up/down to select the copy
destination: (in to card) and then press
[MENU/SET].

I've lost download software for my DMC-FZ8 vanishnow@gmail.com

You should be able to download your pictures with almost any graphics program. You can also use the program that came on lab lade disks a few years ago. You can try the manufacturer for a program, if you registered when you bought it.

Deleting Videos

Hi, Based on your post/description I can only assume that somehow the videos are still there inside your memory. Probably your best bet would be to reformat your card, although you can format the memory card with your PC and a card reader, it is preferable using your camera. This problem indicates a possible problem with the memory and a reformat (total) would delete all information inside and prep it again for usage. Hope this gives you an idea and pls post back how things are and/or further information. Good luck and kind regards.
