Question about Husqvarna Forest & Garden 125l 18" Gas Trimmer

1 Answer

My Husqvarna 125L will not fire. I've cleaned the air filter, replaced the spark plug, replaced the fuel filter. The only other thing I suspect could be the problem is old gas. How do I deal with that possiblity? What else may be the problem?

I'm confident the hose is in tact. I had to do some fishing to get hold of it as it was connected to the fuel filter. I had no problem priming the sytem.

Look inside the fuel tank and see if the gas hoses disintergrated. Most do within a year or so

You may need a 'heli' coil or a larger Spark Plug, it seems that the vehicle at operating temperatures is building up too much pressure and pushing out your current sized plug! Same thing happened to a me! And if its too much pressure, there is a 'filter' that becomes restricted, easy check!
Hopes this helps!

My husqvarna 24c wont stay on and when you press the throttle, it turns off. The air filter sees clean and I cant figure out what it is.

This is probably a fuel delivery issue. You need to start at the fuel tank and work your way to the carburetor. Check condition of the tank, the fuel filter in the tank, all fuel lines (including the ones in the tank). Fuel lines crack with age and deteriorate. They lose material and it can sometimes clog the fuel filter in the fuel tank and/or the carburetor. Try and remove carburetor for an inspection/cleaning. Make sure the primer bulb isn't cracked or leaking. The same goes for the gaskets on the carburetor. A bad air leak can cause your problem also, but start with the fuel system first. A carboned up exhuast port and/or muffler can also attribute to this problem. Remove and inspect the exhaust system. That is the exhaust port of the engine and the muffler itself. If you find a spark arrestor screen behind the muffler, scrape it clean. Post back if needed.

My troy built 2200 pressure washer was running fine but then shut off instantly I then noticed it had low oil I filled it but now it won't start

9224467.jpg
Pressure washer takes oil in two places:
Pump oil is 20-30 weight SAE non detergent and comes half way up/ do not fill more than 1/2 way
Engine oil is 10W30 and comes half way up dip stick
IF you overfilled the oil >>> DO NOT turn power washer on it's side or upside down to drain oil >>> because engine oil will fill carburetor

When engine won't start
We pull off air filter so we have direct access to carburetor
Spray WD-40 into carburetor while starting
The engine will fire on the WD-40

You can keep spraying WD-40 into carburetor to keep engine running while moving choke to see if engine will run on it's own
Squeeze gun trigger so water comes out gun and pump pressure doesn't stop engine

If engine will not fire on WD-40
Spark is suspect
Your spark plug gets power from ignition coil
If coil is bad you get no spark > and coil needs needs replacement
Take out spark plug, clean it with WD-40 and use a bit of sandpaper in the spark gap
Put spark wire back on plug
Touch threads of spark plug to metal part of engine > pull cord and look for sparking between spark plug and engine
If you do NOT have any sparking, then coil is bad
If you HAVE spark, then your spark plug needs cleaning or replacement

If engine fires on WD-40 but will not keep running
Then either fuel or carburetor are suspect
Loosen hex nut on fuel filter located below gas tank >> if fuel flows, then re-tighten hex
Next, pull off rubber hose connected to carburetor to see if fuel flows to carburetor
If fuel is flowing to carburetor, then the carburetor is suspect.
Small engine repair shop will have carburetor cleaners

Check exhaust
There is a screen over exhaust
Make sure it is clean of carbon build-up > Use WD-40

Change air filter

Can't start my Chain Saw Husqvarna 350.

The fuel may have been replaced, but is the fuel filter clean or is the fuel line cracked? Even though you cleaned the spark plug, did you check to see if it has a spark? If not, maybe a new spark plug or check the wire to make sure there is nothing blocking where the wire and spark plug connect. Is the air filter clean? Just a few more things to check out...

Husqvarna 125L quit running, it runs then shuts off

You likely need to replace the muffler, this is a common problem and if the engine can't get rid of the exhaust it also will not take in more fuel, happens a lot with anything with a spark arrester in the muffler.

Husqvarna 350 geting fire and gas but wont start

Have you tried cleaning the air filter? The carburetor fuel inlet may have screens plugged with sawdust as well. If you have spark and fuel and AIR you should get fire(combustion)
