Which "power source" are you asking about? Do you mean the "mains", otherwise called the "service" where the electricity come into the house? Or do you mean how to wire circuits to the breaker panel?
Big difference...if you are asking about the "mains" I would recommend you pay a tradesman.

I presume you are identifying the power source as the power coming from the electric company. If this is the case, and you have no expertice in these matters, you should get a qualified electrician to bring the power in to the load center. This is a very dangerous task for a qualified person, and possibly terminal for a novice. Your power could be coming from a pole in the alley or an underground vault. You have not given sufficient information for either.

How to source a 12v Accessory Power for Flip Down DVD Screen

You said "ECU being funny if you connect any power source to any outlet"
You aren't connecting a power "Source" to the vehicle unless the unit has internal batteries.
The ECU is far more sensitive to someone connecting another lead acid battery to the system, as in Jump Starting the Car.
A spike or trancient voltage can damage the vehicles main control cpu or ECU but highly unlikely from a dvd player or mobile phone etc.
I wouldn't be overly concerned....
If the device you attaching draws only 1-2 amps then pinching a bit of power from the reversing light is the way we all do it.

But... you can insert a device like this in between to protect your DVD Screen from transients.

Vm9424 unit will not power on pressed reset button and it beeps and lights around function buttons come on and go back off fan comes on for about 10 seconds and turns off checked power ground fuses.is...

Hello lumberjack623,
When the jensen starts acting this way, it is simply a power problem. The device is not receiving power from the main source. The battery is weak and need to be charged before the unit can turn on once again. The battery power is too low to turn the unit on.
Try to check the power source or the connection to the power source. It is not charging the players battery. You need to have the connection port replaced. Also the power connection needs be checked.
The battery is simply weak that is why it goes right off when it comes on.
Hope this was helpful to you. All the best Elect_Comp

I have reviewed your problem and have the fallowing for you to aces.
This sounds like to have had a power serge and a possible problem in a power board.
Please try the fallowing.
First, disconnect the unit from its power source.
Next, please check voltage at the power source and verify that it is correct.
Next, please check the ice maker and remove any ice or particles that may be restricting normal operation.
Note... I assume that the unit is cooling and freezing properly, as you have no listed complaints.
Note..... I am asking you to disconnect the unit from its power source and not turn unit off and control panel.
Also, You will want the unit to sit for at least 10 minutes with power disconnected, in order for the unit to reset.
Finally, please re-connect the power source and in available, please push reset on panel.
I the unit work properly afterword's, please have unit serviced asap.
Please let me know if you need anything.

How to connect a pioneer super tuner to a 91 honda accord

With a DC voltage tester, check the two power leads for 12+ volts and proper operation, and be sure the unit is properly grounded.

The two power leads are,

1.Constant feed: which should be connected to an un-switched power source that delivers continuous
power to the units memory.

2.Switched feed: which should be connected to a switched power source controlled by the vehicles ignition switch.

Before installing in dash check unit for proper operation.

Good luck

The JVC unit has a RED wire, it sounds like this is connected to a power source that is ON with ignition...this is OK. Your unit also has a YELLOW wire, and it sounds like this also connected to a power source that is ON with ignition.....NOT OK....this wire needs to be connected to a power source that is On all the time.

A dead battery will cause the unit not to turn on, but it should turn on if connected to an external power source like an AC wall charger or DC car charger.

The remote turn-on wire for an amplifier connects to a switched power source. If the head unit has a power antenna lead, or amp control lead, use it. If not, the remote lead can go to a power source that is switched with the ignition key. No matter the source, you need to fuse the wire with a 1 amp fuse at the point where you connect to the power source.
