This is usually caused by an oxidized or defective Audio/Video drum. Try running a cleaning tape through the camera. If this does not solve the problem the camera will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

I have a Boombox and the audio cassette player is not working

Cassette players use belts for the rew/ffw/play functions. The belts can be difficult to replace even in the relatively large space of a stereo component. Replacing the belts on a boombox is probably more difficult, but I have never tried. If everything else on the boombox is working, it is probably the belts. If you get some sound, but it's muddy, clean the tape heads with alcohol.

When i press the fastforward button on my remote of the player and the video pictures moves and then i press play button..the vidoe still is stuck in the fast forward

The only viable solution that can come to mind is that perhaps the FF button gets stuck. Make sure it is not kept in down position after depressing.

The DVD works fine but the VCR doesn't play, rewind or forward tape.

l would have a look inside to see if when a tape is inserted it loads and will ff and rew, if the transport that moves the tape has failed it will account for what is happening.

Swisstec 19" LCD TV Picture

Hi there! If picture is distorted in Pause or FFW and Rew Mode then your screen might go into mute. Check in your Menu settings for Blue Background on or off and then switch this off. I'm not sure on your Model but a lot of other brands have this in their Menu. If this does not help then the 2 items may not be syncing properly and you will have to live with the symptom. Rewind or fast forward

Though not familiar with this model, VCRs of all sorts have an idler mechanism which drives the supply and takeup spindles. Either the idler is somehow defective and slipping, and, assuming this idler is belt driven, the belt may be slipping just enough to cause a no Rew/FFW condition. If you had access to a test tape jig (a clear dummy tape, which allows a tech to view what is happening in the area normally obscured by the loaded tape), this might give a clue as to what is happening. On alot of machines, a problem with Rew/FFW would also mean a tape takeup problem in standard play, result in tape spilling out inside the machine. Sensors would catch this condition and go into a error mode, as yours is doing. One other thing which might be happening here, is the pinch roller not being disengaged from the capstan in the Rew/FFW modes. I think this is where I'd look first, and you can probably see if such is happening just by pulling the cover off the VCR. The pinch roller is just to the right of the rotating video head. In the play and forward/rev search modes it will press the tape up against the capstan (a rotating shaft). When in Rew/FFW, the pinch roller should be pulled back from the capstan, maybe 1/4 inch or so. Whatever the case, repair will likely take someone tech savvy. Costs might not be economically justified, with the low-cost, disposable rigs sold in the last 10+ years.
