Question about Bosch Nexxt Premium WFMC6400UC Front Load Washer

1 Answer

Vibration WHen the washer goes into the spin cycle it starts to vibrate and shake until the cycle is complete. The is extreme enough that the flooring has developed squeeks. Also the vibration can be felt throught the house. Service people have not been able to find the problem.

my washer makes me want to take a nerve pill...it vibrates so much the whole house is about to jump off the street we live on. I have written letters to Bosch, who ignore me. I call and they have no record of my complaints..I have had service men out they say the problem is common..and I should learn to live with it. I want my 3 grand back. The dryer now screeches when it runs longer than 20 minutes..I am thinking of going to court!

I have a full service contract and I've been reduced to just calling for service after each wash cycle to get some help relocating the washer to its original space since its moved around the laundry room as a result of the vibrations during the spin cycles. If the washer doesn't vibrate, and sometimes it doesn't, leaning on or touching it during the spin cycle will usually start the noisy vibrations. No one seems to understand how to repair them. Maybe some day they will be replaced with a set of regular top loaders and we can sleep or watch tv again while doing the laundry.

My washer has the excact same proble, we cannot use 'Max Spin' or 'Reduced spin' anymore and have to resort to the 'gentle spin'. A repairman came and 'fixed' it for us by installing a new drum/drum roatators ect. and it was okay for about 2 weeks, now it just sounds like a Helicopter in our laundry room.

You may need to reinforce the floor.

Is it on the first or second floor?

4 month old washer is so loud it sounds like someone dropping a trash can to the pavement from 5 feet high

Check to make sure it's level. Number one cause of vibration is not being level. Number two cause is soft floor and what I call "Sympathetic vibration" where the floor shakes a bit and it seems like it's in time with the vibration on the washer. It then magnifies the vibration and makes it worse.

If it's level and on a solid floor, you need to get it serviced under warrenty.

Washer shakes terribly in spin cycle

Does the floor or the walls shake? If they do you have to beef up the flooring under your washer, with blocks between the floor joists, piers, or sistering of the joists. If there is no shaking of the floor or walls, and your washer is solid on the ground, leveled and not rocking, then it is your washer. Lg has problems with too much vibration in their washers. Check to make sure that your lint filter/coin catcher is clean. Open the door in the bottom front, put a towel down to catch the water, Unplug the washer, and unscrew the large plastic screw that is the filter for your washer. If this has debris in it clean it out completely. Look in the hoses also, if your water drain is restricted by lint or coins or other debris, the washer has clothes in it that are wetter and heavier than they should be, and this will cause sever vibration. Because front load washers are VERY HEAVY, they shake if you have a wooden floor. If your front loader sits on concrete and it still shakes, then you have to make sure all is balanced. If it still shakes, then inside the system there are shock absorbers that need to be checked.

I have the exact same washing machine with the same problem. It is a poor design and Maytag knows it. We should be entitled to a refund. This was a very expensive machine.

EXTREME SHAKING DURING SPIN CYCLE

Check the Vibration damper rods to be sure that...
1. They are there and mount is solid.
2. If they are broken in 1/2.
3. The plastic knuckle mounts are not missing/broken.
4. There is oil in the shock absorber/spring section of the rods.

Also - there are suspension springs on the bottom of the tub that could be broken and/or missing.

Replace/repair as necessary.

Front loader vibrates and moves

You shd check the front legs - they shd be a maximum screwed up, that is the machine shd be tilting forwards. Then you adjust acccording to your floor level. The machine should not shake a bit when off, & you try to shake it with both your hands.

A little vibration is normal when the spin starts. Don't forget to rate me nice............

Kenmore 22932 Top load washer has excessive vibration at end of spin cycle

IF THE FLOOR IS NOT ABSOLUTELY STABLE, IT WILL MAGNIFY A SMALL VIBRATION INTO A LARGE ONE. PUT SOMETHING ON THE DRYER IF IT SETS NEXT TO THE WASHER, AND TURN ON THE WASHER INTO SPIN. IF THE ITEM ON THE DRYER SHAKES, THE FLOOR IS MOVING.
IF THE WASHER IS ON CARPET, REMOVE THE CARPET OR CUT HOLES IN IT WHERE THE FEET ARE SO IT IS NOT SETTING ON THE CARPET. THE CARPET AND PAD WILL BE TOO SOFT FOR THE WASHER TO SET STABLE.
ALSO, PICK UP ON THE REAR OF THE WASHER TO RESET THE AUTO LEVELING REAR LEGS. YOU SHOULD HEAR THEM MOVE AND RESET WHEN YOU SET THE WASHER BACK DOWN.
