Scouring powders or cleansers contain abrasives commonly used to clean and remove stubborn stains that are slow to respond to chemical action alone.

However, use of an abrasive cleaner may scratch and damage smooth finishes such as porcelain, fiberglass or enamel making it even more difficult to clean the surface in the future.

New kitchen and bathroom fixtures do not require a scouring cleanser to clean them of soap films and body oils. Dissolving soil by soaking with the correct non-abrasive cleaner (especially a foaming type that sticks to the surface) then wiping and rinsing usually does the job.
When cleaning older, abused fixtures, choose the mildest abrasive cleaner available such as a Soft Scrub -type product or baking soda, and apply just enough that, with light pressure, the embedded soils are loosened and may be rinsed away.

I have the porcelain coated pans and the kids burnt chilled cheese and just can't seem to get it clean now

You can use spray-on oven cleaner, such as "Easy Off" or any similar store brand. Do not use oven cleaner on Aluminum pans, pans with non-stick coatings, or pots/pans with plastic or rubber handles. Wear rubber gloves when working with oven cleaner. It is a very powerful cleaner and can burn your skin.
  1. Put the pan in your empty kitchen sink.
  2. Spray it on generously with oven cleaner.
  3. Leave it overnight, 8 hours or so.
  4. In the morning thoroughly rinse and wipe all the areas you sprayed, including the sink.
You should have a clean pan and a clean sink. Refer to the oven cleaner's label for further instructions and safety hazards. Choose the type of oven cleaner that suits your needs. In my experience, "Fume Free" oven cleaners take longer and don't work as well. Seemingly, the more noxiously fumed cleaners, ie ones containing Lye (Sodium Hydroxide), work better and faster.
This works for porcelain coated pots/pans, stainless steel, steel, glass, etc. Do not use oven cleaner on aluminum pans, pans with non-stick coatings, or pots/pans with plastic or rubberized handles.

Yes. Porcelain sinks can be fixed. Your local home improvement store will have it. It comes as a kit. easy to use and takes about 24 hours to cure.

Your sink is likely either porcelain enamel or a fibreglass type. Either way you can get polish for these most times from a good kitchen center, or the sink manufacturer. Look for a label on the underside of the sink

In the bottom of the sink it reminds you that something was poured in sink and ran down drain and let that area gray/discolored and down close to metal so anything grabs on it and it stays discolored

Depending on how old your sink is or how hard your water is, you may have an issue with mineral build-up on the bottom of the sink. If it's calcium, it would be white, so you wouldn't be able to see it. This sink is porcelain, so it isn't porous and should feel completely slick to the touch, especially when wet.

If it isn't, try cleaning it with a melamine sponge. There are various brands. They are all white rectangular squares and come with names like Magic Eraser (it's all the same stuff). This is a very fine but hard abrasive that should be able to clean off any film. If you continue to have issues, you can also use a cleaning product formulated to remove soap scum (like Scrubbing Bubbles).
