Green is normally the ground, attaches to the case or the wall switch screw., but color means nothing if the plug is wired incorrectly.
Check for correct wiring to the plug before attaching to ground.

How the thermostat wires hooks up on the air handler its a Goodman

Include the model and serial for accurate results, that being said the standard wiring is RGYW (C)
R= (red) low voltage power from the transformer to "R" on the thermostat
G= (green) to "G" on the thermostat to the fan relay
Y= (yellow) to "Y" on the thermostat to the AC contactor (relay) coil. (usually outside in the AC unit).
W= (white) "W" on the thermostat to the heating terminal/gas valve, controller (varies with manufacture).
C= (common) not used much these days but some thermostats have to be "powered" by the low voltage transformer because they have lights, rechargeable batteries or other functions that require power.

Gooman ck30-1t need help wiring thermostat to unit

Hello, on your thermostat you should have terminals Y,G,C,R and W and each terminal should have a wire. Typically y is yellow, G is green, c is blue,R is red and W will be white. If there are only two wires at the thermostat this means heating was only used in the past and new 18/5 thermostat wire must be run from the control board to the thermostat

Need to how the power source will be hooked up, and how, it will wire into a 13 SEER Goodman Packaged Unit, with HKR-15 strips. wire size?= 15 Ft. run: panel to unit

Minim 20 amp circuit ... is this 110 or 220? You need to know.

20 amp circuit needs to have #12 wire. If 110 Volts, you need a black, white and green #12. If 220 Volts you need a black, a red, and a green. If you have anything IN the unit that needs 110 (probably not), you need black, Red, White and Green (bare) #12 wire. Definitely needs to be on a dedicated circuit. If your unit has a resistance heater (electric) you will need a 30 amp circuit (probably 220) which needs #10 wire minimum. 220 volt breakers are double. You will need two spaces in your panel box. Would not hurt to put in heavier wire (#8) protected by a 30 amp breaker ... $ is the governing factor.

Having said all of that --- you should be reminded that I dont even know what country you are in nor your prevailing voltage nor what your national or local codes require. My comments based on installing several Goodman products over several years on the Eastern Seaboard.

Wireing code from goodman heat and air to a Hunter 44360 programa

To get your heat going take the red wire hook it up to R on t-stat. Take white wire and hook it to W on t-stat. Take the green wire and hook it to G on t-stat. that will get you heat. Now I need for you to go to the unit where the wires hook to the furnace circuit board. I need to know what color wires go to what on the board. Might have to take off bottom panel. should only be using 4 or 5 wires. Get back with me and will complete the wiring. Be sure no wires at the t-stat are touching each other as this will short out transformer. So tape them off or cut flush so wire and insulation are flush. ken

I don't know where you are located, but there is a Goodman distributor in Sacramento, CA. Also in Ontario CA. They are a distributor so they may be able to help you or tell where to find someone who will help. Goodman is also known as GMC or Janitrol.
