Question about Garden

1 Answer

I have a Model # AC2001B 2HP/4 Gal air compressor that I bought on 8/1/08. It's performed very good until today. It runs but it won't produce compressed air. The pressure dials show no pressure. The machine has sufficient oil and the air tank drain valve is closed. What could be wrong?

It's not the relief valve, so I might as well tear into it to see if the problem is one of the other things you suggested. Thanks heatman 101.

The reason my Clarke air compressor wouldn't work was because the air intake filter was blocked!!!!

  • jgodshalk Sep 13, 2010

After disassembling the air compressor and not finding any of the conditions you listed I discovered that the air intake filter was completely blocked! Since it can't be taken apart I tried cleaning it with various fluids but none worked. I finally made a filter. The compressor works fine now!

Hi,
First thing and simpleest that you haven't checked is the relief valve...
From there it gets way more complicated...
Hole in the piston...
Compression rings...
broken valve....
broken connecting rod...
blown head gasket...

It definetly seems to be something internal...
probably cheaper to buy a new one...

    Wow,

I guess I didn't think of that because I assumed incorrctly that normal maintenance was being performed on the air compressor...

Goes to show that I should never assume even the simplest things...:-)

Anyway thanks, I will make sure to include that in any other solutions from now on, even if I get laughed at for it...which does happen by the way,,, I have to have very thick skin to do this...!!!

Seems many times you cannot win...

Glad you have it running again!!!

Where do I get a cylinder head for a clarke champ air compressor model #AC2001B?

This company in liquidation in the US, however many of the same compressors are available in the UK re-branded with different model numbers/names (alpha name instead). Go down the list opening manuals until you find similar looking parts. You may find same pump/motor components on a different tank, however use manual information as needed. China made compressor as yours will be sold by many different retailers under different names. Look on ebay first "searching pancake" compressor for likeness. The manuals listed below should clue you in. Good luck.

I have the clark 4 gallon compressor Model #AC2001B. When I pull the on switch the compressure attempts to start. It runs slowly for a few seconds then stops. I do not know why this occurs. Thanks

Hi I know these need to be very high powered so try plugging it in direct to the mains not an extension lead or use the mains from the house not a garage or outhouse hope this works!

Try to use a higher amperage extension cord.
This unit is rated for 15 amps. It should be able to run on a 20 amp circuit unless there is voltage drop due to small wiring. Try an air conditioner extension and let us know the result.

I need a schematic Break down of a cummins 2hp 13 gal 115v 15 amp 13 gal tank air compressor Model # TD-5050(1204) Serial # 0702 including price for the electric motor Thank You

I have a TD-5050 13 gallon air compresser that is a 5 Horse running motor. The mmotor will not start on it's own with out me turning the motor by hand to get it started. I have to let all the air out and than spinn the motor to get it started. If I do this it will run for a long time. I think i might have messed it up with using too light of electric cord.

Air compressor won't build pressure

If this unit has what appears to be a pipe with fins on it , you may have a ruptured inter-cooler which will be leaking where you stated.
