Hi: TV comes on O.K. Pix is very dark, looks negative. Lamps behind panel are bright. Sound
is O.K. All features of set work O.K. Could this
be a defective panel?

No, in a defective panel the pixels would be fully on all the time. Your problem is located in the image processor. You will probably gonna have to replace the entire mainboard.
Or they might be in the cables that connect the panel to the mainboard - they might be loose or frayed.Or they might be in the cables that connect the panel to the mainboard - they might be loose or frayed.
No essential difference between them (yours is a newer model than the above one) so the technology in them is identical. Identical problem = identical cause and way of fixing it.No essential difference between them (yours is a newer model than the above one) so the technology in them is identical. A dark horizontal band with edges that gradually brighten (as opposed to a sharp black bar) indicates a fluorescent tube that isn't lighting up properly (check to see if the band lines up with a wire coming from the inverter board to confirm). A normally operating inverter will shut down all of the lamps if it detects a fault in one of them, but perhaps the tube is only weak and not dead.
I'm not sure what the bright patch is - perhaps the LCD was subjected to uneven pressure while you were working on the set (perhaps by being laid down on a bunched-up towel), or something is deforming the back reflector inside the lamp box behind the LCD (maybe one of the screws for the inverter board is too long and actually belongs somewhere else).
Hello David It sounds that the back light inverter board, and back light CCFL lamps to your TV need to be checked. It will be best to contact any service technician, because to check its back light CCFL lamps, you must disassemble the display panel, a very skilled work indeed. If you are sound in electronics, you can check it. If you wish to know more http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ check this link. It has details. Pull up older posts there by its left side bar, or see it in 'Timeslide' option.
The whole point of a webcam is to be able to see the person you are speaking with, and let them see you. When the image broadcasted by your camera is too dark, the person on the viewing end won't see anything but shadows and dark shapes. Learn how to brighten your webcam image so the people you chat with can see you.
Place lamps behind and to the side of the webcam. This casts a light on your face, but the lamps will not wash out the image because they are behind the camera. Turn off lamps that are behind you. You have trouble seeing things when you are looking in the direction of the sun or a light bulb. Your webcam has the same problems. Don't make it stare at a bright light. Open up a white screen on your computer to brighten your face. The white screen will create the brightest possible light from you computer screen and help lighten your webcam image. This option is best when lamps are not available. Open up an empty tab in your Internet browser, or a blank Notepad document, and expand it to the full of your screen. Adjust your webcam settings. The settings available to you will depend on your webcam, but many of them offer a "Brightness" setting that you can increase to lighten your webcam. Open the program that came with your webcam, then look for a "Settings" or "Options" menu. Increase the "Brightness" setting until it has lightened your webcam enough. b>
Initially try to enter a factory settings if not helped try to play a dvd movies etc on your TV,,if the problem is still there you have bad T-con board..Just replace it to fix the problem,,
Hello If baklight CCFL tubes become weak, the brightness will be very weak. Now you can see the picture with least brighness. So it is sure that, the backlight inverter board is working well. Just check the CCFL lamps. For a 37 inch LCD tv may have atleast 14 CCFL lamps. When replacing, do replace all at one time. OK.
Hello Keep a close look to the screen, and see whether there is any trace of picture on it. If it is there, you can see pale shadow of it moving. If it is there, be sure that the backlight is not there. Thhere is an inverter board to energise the CCFL lamps used as backlight component. If the inverter board got faulty, the CCFL lamps won't light up, and no brightness will be there with LCD TVs. Check it. OK.
Shine a small bright light at the screen when on and see if you can see a faint picture in the dark screen. If you can then your backlighting is not functioning due to ccfl (inverter), power supply, or back light lamps.
this is what convergance looks like; http://home.earthlink.net/~oleg.filippov/ConvergenceFix.htm
if pix is dark their is 6 adjustments knobs in the front of the tv under the screen and behind the plastic cover. the top three are the brightness bottom three is focus.
On the inside of the TV, on the flyback transformer there should be two controls. Turn the one that says "screen" very slowly clockwise while looking at the pix. The pix should get brighter as you turn it up- if you go to far you will see lines in the pix or the TV may shutdown.
