I don't believe that graphic cards of that level need PCI-EX power directly from the power supply (using a power supply cable with a PCI-EX connector). This is a good thing, but that's because this is a low-level card--one that likely needs nVidia legacy drivers: It's likely that active driver support has ended. (The same is true for legacy AMD/ATi cards--and other more ancient cards, as well. ((PCI or AGP) Sabre, 3DFX, etc.)
If you're using the VGA port--perhaps the card's DVI port is needed for initial install, instead--or vice-versa. (You'd need an adapter or different cord to run to a VGA monitor or TV's VGA port .)
Rarely, two VGA ports might exist on a card, instead. In any case, the port needed likely isn't the one connected (with a ribbon cable) to the PCB on the video card. (Once you get a workable video card driver installed, then you should be able to use either port.) Try all usable ports before finding another possible solution....
Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA
the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they might be faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electical extensions even something as small as an electrical fan and its lead can cause this problem or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs all electrical power and data to continue through every working device and to have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error
make sure your graphics card is securely seated with no dust built up or in the socket
if you remove yor graphics card restart your computer then reinstall it should activate found new hardware wizard
ya u can purchase AGP8x graphic card. But
AGP8x slots become old, now PCIExpress 16x is in the market it is better, advance gives higher performance for games and software than AGP gives. AGP is also costly than PCIE graphic cards. So, i want to suggest u that u should purchase Intel Original Board of G965, G45 series boards it has lots of benefits configuration with DDR2, 4SATA ports, PCIE-16x and u not need to purchase graphic card because these board supports T&L it has 256MB to 384MB inbuilt graphics which can play most of the high graphics games without graphic card. I am to using G965RY board with 384MB inbuilt. but company has stop manufacturing this board. Now more better boards have launched in the market which is better then 965RY. Now its upon u what to do. Good Luck
If you would have listed the model & manufacture of your graphics card or if the graphics card is built into the board the (Model number of the motherboard) Or if the graphics card has been added to your system, (The name of card & model number). Finding an answer for your problem would go a bit faster & be more accurate. If your graphics card is built into your motherboard or if the graphics card is installed into an AGP/PCI or PCI-E port, you'll need to uninstall your graphics driver software. The error message you posted; (Your display driver created a problem). One or more driver files are most likely corrupt. To correct this you will need to open windows control panel. Than open the icon, Add/Remove programs. Find your graphics driver software & uninstall it. After which windows will want to restart. (Do so). When windows finishes loading re-install the driver software for your graphics card. (Your graphics driver software should be on a CD). Than restart windows, even if windows does not ask you too. When windows finishes loading again. Load windows update service. Click the start button, slide your mouse to All Programs, than slide to & click on Windows update. Install any updates windows finds. (Do not install windows explorer version 8.0) Too many bugs in version 8.0. While on windows update site look to the left. If you see that windows also has hardware updates, include these in the update process. (Restart your system when downloading is finished or if windows request it). Lastly, before you try playing a game download & run this free program named RegCure. (This program will clean your system from left over junk& non needed files). Click on the link below to download RegCure; http://www.pctuneuptips.com/recommends/clean/?gclid=CL2RiIrTmpICFSFMGgodODIPzg
If you still receive en error message or if your game locks up/ freezes, provide the information I mentioned above so I can better help find a fix.
Your board only supports AGP 4x graphic cards. You should be able to use any AGP 4x card or even some AGP 8x cards. Some of the 8x cards are backwards compatible but will run at the slower 4x speed. You can try places like TigerDirect.com or Newegg.com to see what they have available. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.
