Radio and CD player both emit a hissing or buzzing noise through the speakers like there is poor reception. However, all the local signals are found and play just fine, just the hiss!

The CD player cannot suffer from poor reception, so if you are having the same hissing / buzzing sound from the Bose system irrespective of the source you have selected , its is coming from the preamp / amplifier section. Also could be coming from the electronic source selector in the preamp section. You will need profession help

Am noise

in the AM frequency range, it is very hard to stop any type of interference because of the low bandwidth and not a lot can be done to suppress it, and where this band is in the frequency spectrum. There should be an AM loop on the back of your receiver, and if there is not, maybe that is why the AM reception is so poor. You can also be a better AM antenna from an electronics store to hook up to your receiver. Like I said, not a lot that can be done for interference my friend.

Sound only works in VID mode with audio/video hookups either through a DVD player or video game consoles. Sound does not work with just cable hookup with coax cable.

Just adust the system reception to auto mode in your tv and retry. You can do it through remote control menu, going to sound options. Check tha sound system to auto. If the Tv has only PAL and SECAM system; NTSC signals do not output sound. If the tv is multi system compactable, making system reception mode to auto may help you.

Poor radio reception with Jensen VM9512 in 2001 Nissan Altima

If you used the 2 plug nissan radio harness, there should be a blue wire on there which is the (power antenna) even if your car doesn't have a power antenna, this wire needs to be connect to power on the am/fm amplified ant which is used in many nissan cars.

if the jensen has a blue or a blue/white wire, connect it to one of those. if not, you can always connect it to the red ACC wire. that should solve your reception problem..

hope this helps

Reception on fm is not very good

Unfortunately there are only two real ways the reception could be "bad".

Either your MP3 player is a lemon itself (meaning a single defective product, in which case you can return it, if you bought it recently!)....OR, the more likely answer is that MP3 players with FM tuners generally don't have great reception.

I have run into one MP3 player that has pretty good reception, and that is the Zune. It lets you set presets and such as well. Hope that helps!

No sound from FM player; all other functions appear okay

The FM radio on that player is unusually weak. You will probably only be able to get reception outside. It is not actually a volume issue - that player just has weak reception and is very sensitive to interference.

Purchased a Samsung SH855 DVD Recorder with 250gb Hard drive, this is now my 4th unit that that I have changed over from Harvey Norman for various issues, this unit now has the same problem as the first,...

Did the return yesterday. They plugged it in and did a playback in the shop to check what I meant. They claimed to be surprised. Anyway got my new unit home and was testing it out. It seemed to have the same problem. Meanwhile the sales guy rang to say they had tried it in the shop and that it might be my reception.

I got a reception booster and so far it has recorded what i have programmed. Playback quality is still a bit patchy at times.
Now I have to think about my next move.
