I need wiring diagram for Amana AKT3650E. I have 220VAC supply without a neutral. Electricain says the warning lights need 115VAC. How it that achieved?

So the manual:

says the power requirements are 120/240 VAC 3 wire single phase.

Almost all wiring includes a ground wire, so saying 3 wire also says it additionally has a ground wire. However, many oven outlets were wired using the neutral as the ground (now considered illegal - especially for new installations) - so they had a 3 prong plug.

Metering from any 2 holes (at a time) in the receptacle should reveal 240 V (across the similar slots) and 120 V and 120 V (from outside slots to middle slot).

How can I turn on the headlights when the headlight switch is broken in a 1997 cadillac seville sls

You could hardwire them under the hood and add a temporary switch. Will require removing the connectors and making a new harness with connectors and a ground. may be able to run the ground wire into the car to turn them on and off. You will need to place a fuse in line as the original fuses will not be connected. Simple usually three prongs on each bulb. one for ground, one for regular beams and one for high beams. Running these wires will be easy to do but finding out which prong on the bulb is which will require me to actually see it.

I have a Whirlpool ARC5753/2 fridge/freezer. I had to replace the power lead as it got cut, but I can't remember which terminals to connect the 3 wires from the 3-prong plug to. The compressor start relay...

Please, don't mess around with power cables. If you connect it the wrong way around the outside metal parts will carry dangerous voltages and can kill you.

in Europe the brown and blue are supposed to carry the voltage and a green/yellow wire is supposed the shield / earth.

our engineers don't have a diploma because they are better skilled with a screwdriver, but because they handle equipment that can be lethal when not handled correct.

There is noise interference from the microphone points when i switch on and off the lamps. i have a AV rack.

Is this a home recording setup?
Often home wiring is not of an adequate standard for quality recording. The problem then lies in 'noisy' wiring - cables in the wall that are not well shielded from each other.

Two possible solutions:

First, if the plug from your recording equipment is 3-prong, try using a 3-prong to 2-prong adapter for it. This would eliminate noise from the grounding wire.

Second, consider purchasing a "Power Conditioner". Prices can range from US$50 to several hundred dollars.

Hardwiring shop lights to an existing light. I have a flourescent shop light with a two prong plug on the end of it that I would like to hardwire into another light fixture in my garage. How do I know...

If the prongs on the plug are of different sizes, it's a polarized plug and the smaller one is the hot wire, which should be connected to the black wire in the existing fixture. If the prongs are not of different sizes, then the fluorescent fixture doesn't require a polarized plug, and either wire will do.

I misplaced my powercord for my lesmark X7170 where can I purchase one from

Hi, try to check first if your power cord should be a 3-prong cord or a 2-prong cord by checking the power supply behind the printer where it should be plugged in. Then, check at your nearest electrical/electronics shops around your area if it's available. Otherwise, try to call Lexmark and check if they can assist you with that. I hope I could help you more with that. Good luck!

On the of the prongs in the XLR connection got pushed in when someone plugged it in wrong. How can I pull it out?

you can't. The best thing to do is to cut the cable at the head, go to radioshack/online electronics source to pick up the replacement head (shield, prongs, and outer-casing), and re-solder. XLR cable are real easy to build because there are only 3 wires to connect to 3 prongs. A little solder will go a long way. The prongs are numbered, and the cables go as such: red-2, black-3, naked-1. Make sure you feed the bottom shield over the cable before you expose the wires to make it easier. Once your soldering is done, slide the outer metal casing over the prong unit, and screw in the bottom shield to tighten. Really that simple. :D
