When I connect the monitor to my laptop the screen flashes on then goes black. The power button is still on. I have checked the connections at both ends.

  • lvharleymom Aug 21, 2010

I changed the resolution and the screen is still black. I checked the device manager and the graphic driver shows Mobile Intel (R) 945 Express Chipset Family. Is this correct? If this is correct and I uninstall the graphic driver where do I find it to re-install?

There are 4 downloads dating back to 2008. Do I download them all?

  • lvharleymom Aug 21, 2010

I have done all of the suggestions...unistalled the driver and re-installed. Now it doesn't recognize that I have a 2nd monitor. Do I now have to re-install the monitor?

  • lvharleymom Aug 21, 2010

I did that. I unistalled the graphic driver like you suggested and then re-intalled it from the link you sent. It now doesn't recognize that I have a 2nd monitor attached. Do I need to re-install the monitor disk? I can't find my install disk.

I have a ViewSonic VA902b Monitor hooked up to my HP laptop that is running Vista Home Premium 32-bits. When I start the computer or when I turn the monitor off then on manually the picture will flash on then go off. I have now uninstalled and re-install the graphics driver and that did not work. How do I fix this?

Hello.

From your descriptions and some troubleshooting that was performed, it sounds like bad capacitor(s) could be the problem.

Replacing capacitors should be performed by a professional.

If your monitor is still under warranty, return for a replacement.

Hope this helps.

Hi Thanks for accept my bid. This problem is related to graphic screen resolution. First make sure that graphic driver installed and working fine. Go to start menu->control panel->display property then settings make sure screen resolution is 1024*768 then apply. If still same then uninstall graphic driver and reinstall. You can check graphic driver in device manager for that go to start menu->run or press windows key +R so you can see run type in run "devmgmt.msc" without "" then press ok then you can see device manager check graphic driver is installed in display adapter. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

Vaio LCD problem

Periods.......Nice little items because they denote the End of a sentence.
See how this works?

"I have a vgn cs36gj, I was working with it, suddenly the LCD became pale black, I connected it to external monitor and it has a picture, sometimes after turning on for 30 minutes LCD start working normally, but after turning off and disconnecting power when I turn it on, it only shows a pale black picture, you know it is on but only black!"

Now you try it.........

"I have a vgn cs36gj. I was working with it, suddenly the LCD became pale black.
I connected it to external monitor and it has a picture."

Okay, I got that part.........

"sometimes after turning on for 30 minutes LCD start working normally, but after turning off and disconnecting power when I turn it on, it only shows a pale black picture, you know it is on but only black!"

WHICH LCD?
Laptop LCD?
External monitor LCD?
Man on the moon LCD?

1) If the external monitor LCD goes 'pale black', the problem is the graphics chipset.
This I do not believe

2) If the laptop LCD goes pale black, this I believe.

Acer 4520g minitor blackout

You could have a faulty CCFL lamp or inverter, To determine if you have a LCD screen, inverter or video card problem, read this and follow these instructions.
Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

L1932TQ monitor flashes on, then blacks out

I would try connecting it to another computer or Laptop if you can to see if the problem is the same. You might also try disconnecting it from you computer and turning it on, it should “banner”(show a logo and or a no signal message). If it behaves the same way just a quick flash…. Sounds like its toast.

CANNOT COMPUTE!!!! NEED MORE DATA! Is your monitor the problem or the computer? Try connecting the monitor to another computer. You can also try connecting a laptop with an external video adaptor to the monitor to test it.

Try connecting an external monitor - if you get a picture then the laptop screen may be faulty or turned off.
